What do you think my first album was to record. It's been to long coming, received a USB turntable for Christmas. Benny Santini; LP is in very good condition and the tracks sound great. A must for the car.

A MUST for Rea fans.....
Chris Rea a rocker, you say? Put on Three Angels and Fires Of Spring and crank it up! That is, of course, if you can find the CD!! I found mine about 10 years ago in a bin at a Wal-Mart for $5. Wow, what a debut! A perfect mix of ballads and rockers. 00. Snatched it up in a heartbeat. It has a few scratches from being played and played and played, but no skips, thanks to compact disc quality! And of course if you're looking for the full-length, unedited version of Fool (If You Think It's Over), his highly acclaimed world-wide hit, here it is and ONLY here, one of the sweetest, heart-wrenching ballads of the era. "I'll buy your first good wine, we'll have a real good time. " I suppose they should re-release this so everyone can afford one!! .

The best cd you've never heard.
I'm so glad I found it. This is a fantastic cd. It is a crime that it is out of print. This may be the only place to find the original full length version of Fool(If you think it's over). I only have 3 other Chris Rea cd's so far, but this is far and away the best. I have not stopped listening to it since I bought it. I paid $20 for it, but it is worth much more. If you're a fan of any male artists like Springsteen, Billy Joel, Tom Petty etc. , you'll like this just as much.

Excellent Debut!
Apart from Chris Rea's outstanding "Road To Hell" album in the 80's, this is arguably the best one he produced in his late 70's debut period. For the life of me, I can't understand why this fine album is out of print & has been for a long time now. I managed to find a used copy of this very rare CD from a small record shop in England, and the extremely few copies existing now are going for ridiculously high prices.

Great songs abound here with infectiously catchy hooks & choruses, as well as excellent music. It contains Rea's only hit single in the U. S. , "Fool (If You Think It's Over), as well as a slew of "shoulda-been-a-hit" songs such as "Bows & Bangles", "Dancing With Charlie" & the awesome "Because Of You", all delivered with Rea's characteristic rough, smoky voice.

For those of you who might be scratching your heads about the album's rather odd title, allow me to provide some explanation. . . the name "Benny Santini" refers to a professional name chosen for Rea by his then-record label, Magnet, who felt that he had an "Italian" quality to his looks and voice despite being British and wanted to market him as such. The story behind all of that is recounted in a hilariously tongue-in-cheek manner on the album's title track.

If you can find this CD, especially at a price that won't make your eyes bug out of your head, don't pass it up; you won't be disappointed!.
