True Harmony There's true harmony with the two. With Reamonn's WISH, as with almost all of the songs I've heard by them, the lyrics and the music are finely meshed. Rea's vocals are concise, sexy, introspective, heart-wrenching, wild, soothing and pure. He doesn't hide behind noise and gimmicks. I love that about this album. . . and their music in general.
WISH has a nice mix of songs, but the overall feeling is that there's a thread of struggle or desperation. Like one on the verge of something. Each song IS a journey (sometimes the journey is the destination). TONIGHT is of course a winner (also loved Rea and Mihalis Xatzigiannis singing it together). In JUST ANOTHER NIGHT and SOMETIMES, the overall tone cries out something really powerful. I give this album a definite thumbs up and look forward to seeing them in concert.
Awesome band, awesome music. I want more!!
The group had two hit songs (Josephine and Supergirl). I first discovered Reamonn while vacationing in Germany in the summer of 2000. I brought that music back with me so I could listen to it in the United States because they don't get any airtime over here.
I made another trip to Germany to see the World Cup in 2006. I happened to be in the town of Kaiserslautern (to see Spain vs. Saudia Arabia) when I heard that Reamonn was performing a free concert in the town square. I couldn't believe it. There I was, in the right city at the right time. I had the unique opportunity to hear them perform their latest songs as well as 'Josephine' and 'Supergirl'. This band is just as good as U2.
After arriving back in the U. S. , I got kind of depressed because no one has ever heard of them. Reamonn doesn't get any airtime on US radio stations or tv. Not even a single music video. There are a ton of great musical artists in Europe that will never get any airtime over here. It's a shame.
[. . . ].
Solid
Lead singer has sounds like Bono on some songs. Good album. Especially like song 6 called 'Tonight'.
