A great new style for Reef

Anyways here's the review. Yes it's true that it is completely different from their previous stuff but it's great to hear a new side of Reef.

1. Waster - A great new style for Reef. I love this song so much. I play it nearly everyday. It is that good. Great stuff. 10/10.

2. War Pigs (Studio Version) - I had not heard the original version of this when I got this single. I think it is a pretty good effort at covering it. 10/10

3. Talk To Me (Live) - I haven't heard the original version off Together. Taken from the Reef live dvd, it is a great song to do live and they made it so. 10/10

Overall this is a great single by Reef including new material such as Waster. The cover of War Pigs is great and the live version of Talk To Me is great too. So if you're a Reef fan this is just right for you. 10/10.

Fairly Dissapointing
When i listened to the tracks, i was dissapointed. I always look forward to new Reef material, so when i saw this single on display at a record store, i got all hyped. The title track "waster" is new material, yet sounds as a leftover from Replenish. . . Its hard to comprehend why after 10 years of music, the sound goes back to their very first album. Yes, this also means that production on the track was not amazing. It also sounded kind of raw. Its classic reef though, but not in the likes of the first singles they usually put out, like "place your hands" or "naked. "

The Black Sabath cover "war pigs" is good. . . yet the band did not really try hard to give it a different feel, or interpret it reallly reef-like. . . therefore, the track was covered the way any other band would have coverd it.

The best track in this cd is the live version of "Talk To Me. " This was one of the new songs that came in the "best of" compilation.

If i had to guess, this release is only an attempt to promote and push their upcoming live dvd, because it really does not feature anything really amazing. After making fans buy their full "best of" cd just for 6 new songs, youd expect that they try to put something out that was really worth fan's money.
Anyway, were really looking forward to the new album, and in spite of everything. . . to the live DVD. . .

Hopefully, with those future releases, Reef will be anything but dissapointing.
