Not really what i expected Buuuuut to my suprise i pop in the CD and most of the songs sound quite "washed out" (like the singer is in another room or something). When i bought this CD, I thought I'd be in for the bouncy, happy jovial skank music that i've come to love (thru napster of course). They weren't bouncy, and actually made me feel kinda sleepy. Maybe someone's playing a prank on me! I'm gonna go buy Turn the Radio Off.
RBF is ok with this album
com. ive loved rbf for years now and i finally bought this title from amazon. It is allright but you have to realize the sound quality is lacking and the songs seem a little slower. dont buy unless you are a huge rbf fan with $16 burning a hole in your pocket.
Everything Sucks... Easily their best CD
I think it's much better then Why Do They Rock So Hard?, Keep Your Reciept, or Turn the Radio Off. Reel Big Fish is my favorite ska band, and unlike most people it seems, I love Everything Sucks. It's got about 13 songs from other CDs, but they sound very different. I like this older sound alot more then their newer Mojo stuff. My advice? Buy this CD. If you think you're a Fish fan but don't like it, have yourself put to sleep.
Everything Sucks (except Reel Big Fish)
R. I bought a bootleg of this a long time ago, but when it was re-released, I bought it for the extra tracks and enhanced feature (it is also re-mastered and sounds much better) My one complaint: Why did they cut the original "S. " ? I like it better than the Turn the Radio Off version. . . is it because the copyrights of the bands named in the song? (diff. lyrics than the re-recorded version) Anywho, this CD kicked when I got the bootleg and it kicks in it's re-release. . . it sounds so great! I like the extra tracks, especially "I'm Her Man". . . the enhanced feature is "so-so". . . not even comparable to the incredible one on "Keep Your Receipt", but it is still a nice bonus (even though the music video is the same as the "Keep Your Receipt" version, except MUCH better quality) Like Blink's "Buddha", this is a nice opportunity to get in on what the band sounded like before their fame and fortune (even though Reel Big Fish still aren't even close to being as "Hollywood" as Blink-182 is now) I really miss Adam Polakoff though. I wish he were still with the Fish, as well as the other original members. I also miss Andrew Gonzalez (retired) and Grant Barry (kicked out of the band) . . . but Carlos De La Garzo is an awesome drummer, as he showed with Action League and Suburban Rhythm. He's a nice addition to the group, but they have yet to replace Grant. Anywho, this CD kicks, get it before it's out of print again (this is a limited run, that's why it costs so much!).
Sums up their style
If your a really big fan who wants 50 of everything by them then buy it. I love reel big fish and this is a good cd but i dont recommend it to people who have the other cds. . . it only has a few new songs that arent on other cds. the other songs are on other cds but they are different because they had other members in the band. . . if you are buying this cd to be your first by them its a good choice because it has many of their different styles on it. i also recommend buying keep your receipt as a first album by them because its cheaper and still gives you a taste of their style.
