more great music from RHH
Once I went through three or four spins of this latest release I loved it. I have been following this band since I saw them open for ZZ Top many years ago. Now that they finally have a drummer who gels with the already great guitar and bass the band is as good as I have ever heard them. I love "Death Metal Guys" and "Oh God Doesn't Work in Vegas" but they are all good. If you love the guitar work check out Reverend Organ Drum which is a side project of Jim's.

Keep On Preachin'
Just by the reviews here it seems more disappointed than not. Well, it seems that fans are a bit mixed on this one.
Personally I loved this album, but that certainly doesn't mean that you will. If you're a bigger fan of the more frantic, punk infused sound of the Reverend's early albums, than this might not hit the spot. Folks compare it to Revival, and that's pretty accurate. Though I'm not sure I'd consider it as Country as most do. Yeah, there's definitely a very southern hillbilly type sound, but I tend to think of that more as along the lines of early Rockabilly than Country. I mean, it certainly doesn't sound like Freddy Fender if that's what you're worried about.
There are some catchy, uppity numbers but nothing quite along the lines of say, Galaxy 500.
I love the frantic albums from the Reverend's early days, but I also have a special place in my heart for his more recent stuff as well(in fact I may even like it more in some ways). Basically the best advice I can give is that you will most probably enjoy this album if you like Revival.

laughin and cryin with reverend horton heat
as the regurgitator song goes. . i like your old stuff better than your new stufff.

never mind where she put your your toothbrush, where has the psychobilly in the reverand gone? COBBER,please dont focus on texas next record. You can do better. paycheck has potential, but give the axe some grind and your lungs some oomf. . . some moments better than revival but only just. The old ute will still be pumping out the tunes but maybe with more tears than smiles. go eat some meat and look to the big sky, maybe some bales of cocaine can get your freak to come out. ROCK OUT WITH YOUR.

I sometimes don't know what others are listening to
It rocks! It swings! and is pure Heat!. I have every Reverand Horton Heat album and just don't know what's not to love about this record.

Thank God for the Reverend Horton Heat!!!
Some Great Rockabilly here and some Texas geography, too. Thank you Reverend Horton Heat!!!

I Love this album! Not as heavy as some of their previous work, but still has the musicianship and humor of their previous releases. As a native Texan, I appreciate that.
