o damien rice
Living through the 70s disco, 80s new wave and the 90s. . well, the 90s weren't very memorable. . . . Damien Rice is a talent that comes through once a decade. His music is pure and unadulterated. Maybe it's because I'm a little older, and MAYBE a little wiser. You sorta get tired of the empty shell songs that the mass-market, cookie cutter teen bands sing.

This is not a self absorbed, pretentious folksy album that some artists put out. You cannot help but feel that angst. Every track is personable, well written and beautiful.

Hauntingly Good Music
Then do what I did, find out who sang this hauntingly beautiful song, and buy the CD. Have you seen the movie Closer yet, if not watch the movies and listen to the song being played throughout the movie. The Blowers Daughter, is one of the best songs that I have heard in a long time. The song sticks to your mind, body and spirit, if this song does not get to you, there is something wrong with you. Then after yoy have played that song, sit back and listen to the others songs that will grow on you too. I agree with some of the other who have reviewed this CD, you will not be diappointed, this is one not just a good CD,it's a great one.

O Limited Edition
I first came across Damien Rice because of a family member at first I only listened to it once and I thought I dont like it, then a few years later (one year later actually) I saw it again and said I'll give it another chance. . and as I lied in bed listening to "Delicate" I felt tears coming down my face and I was like "whoa!" and I listened to the whole album so the very next day I went out to buy it and what did I come across? The limited edition with a dvd. I was a bit dissapointed that it only includes the AOL SESSIONS cos if it included the videos too then it would be a great buy but if you are like me that is into LIMITED EDITION's cd's from artists I like then you would very much like this version. What is the catch to my review? I AM ONLY 15! .

Haunting
The cd is filled with equally haunting and painful tracks. I, like many other bought this album because of "Blowers Daughter" hearing it in the movie "Closer" It was such a hauntingly beautiful song I couldn't get it out of my head. It's not a feel good piece of work. In fact it brought back many painful memories. Filled with love, loss and emotion this is not music for everyone and may not be something I can listen to often. It is a tremendously powerful collection of music. .

top quality album
the best song by far is 'the blowers daughter'. i think this album is brilliant. it is just so good and so nice. cannonball and volcano are also great!.
