Always a hit!

As always with Lionel Richie, I was not disappointed in all the music. After seeing the Coming Home song on one of the morning shows, I knew I needed to buy this CD for my husband who was coming home from Afghanistan.

Welcome Back

I had heard I call it love on the radio for months before I even knew it was him. I have been listening to Lionel Richie since I was born probably and I follow his music through every era from the Commodores to the 90's.

It's truly amazing how he redefines himself in every era that he chooses to record in, I honestly thought the artist singing the song was Ne-Yo or Chris Brown or one of those younger sentimentalists.

I know alot of people are not inpressed because the album is not full of hits but truly, which album is these days. Some tracks just will always be bad or will eventually grow on you but when a veteram artist like Lionel Richie records superhits like Icall it love and Why after so many years off the scene, the hat must come off to him.

Lionel, well done.

Simply Wonderful!
I've heard many of Lionel Richie's song over the years. I received this cd as a gift from an uncle. But, I have never owned one of his cds. My initial thought was that I could not possibly have the same musical interests as my middle-aged relative. I now realize that real music transcends age. I love this cd! I play it all the way through. . . My favorites are "I'm Coming Home" and "Why". Sorry I ever doubted my uncle's recommendation!.

Not perfect, but pretty close
That song would have been enough but when I previewed the rest of the songs, it definitely put it over the edge for me. I have to admit, I was initially interested in this cd because of "I Call It Love". There are only a couple of songs that I don't like as much as the rest ("I Love You" and "All Around the World"), but I never expect to love every song on an album, so I wasn't disappointed.

The whole cd is really solid, and I don't feel the need to skip any tracks on it. Definitely as close to perfect as most albums ever get.

Coming Home

The other tracks that I really enjoy are: SWEET VACATION; WHAT YOU ARE; I LOVE YOU; OUT OF MY HEAD & UP ALL NIGHT. This is the first Lionel Richie album I've bought in a long time and I bought it because of how much I enjoy the lead single, I CALL IT LOVE -although listening to it with headphones, the production & backing vocals kind of drown Lionel out it was still nice to see him chart again with such a pleasant mid tempo song.

I think that the producers Lionel worked with successfully managed to contemporize songs without totally selling out his image by having guest rappers on the track to appeal to a much younger crowd. Overall I was very pleasantly surprised by the number of tracks I did like and would recommend this disc to Lionel's fans.
