Probably her best album! Every cut is outstanding, well-sung and well-arranged. LeAnn Rimes is almost always good, but "I Need You" is easily her BEST album. HIGHLY recommended!.
And I Need You.....
In My Collection. . And I Do Have A Lot Of Your Albums. Thanks.
Great Album
I really like this cd, it's a nice mixture of country & pop. Now let me first start off by saying I do understand LeAnn did not have any input in this cd. This cd is much better then the 2002 re-release as the other just seems fake. They added alot of tracks that simply didn't go with the cd. As for this cd, my favorite tracks would be. . .
I Need You
Soon
One Of These Days
I Believe In You
Together, Forever, Always
Even though LeAnn didn't personally release this album, if your a LeAnn Rimes fan I would recommend it.

And now for a track by track review of I Need You,
1. After The Release of 1998's underrated Sittin' On Top Of The World and her self-titled album of country favorites Leann Rimes stepped into the pop pit and released I Need You and shortly was the subject of a ongoing legal battle between her her father Wilbur Rimes and Curb Records denying that Leann had no permission whatsoever to release I Need You but still ranks as a favorite album to add to a fan's Leann Rimes collection. I Need You,
This song written by Ty Lacy and Dennis Matronsky was first seen in the two part miniseries JESUS that aired on CBS and was the first Leann Rimes song to have aired on three radio genres {Christian Pop and Country},
2. But I Do Love You {From Coyote Ugly},
Written By Diane Warren this song from Coyote Ugly is a cute little country tune that also granted Leann Rimes a hit in the country airwaves. Diane Warren also wrote two other songs for Coyote Ugly including Please Remember {Which is not on here} and Can't Fight The Moonlight which we'll review later on,
3. You Are,
This song written by Laurie Webb and where the title of my review is from is Leann Rimes attempt to become a female Clay Aiken mimics Clay Aiken's Invisible and could easily fit at home on The OC Degrassi or any other teen related show but Leann makes it a listenble track,
4. Soon {From Sylvester Stallone's Driven},
This song is identical to Collin Raye's Love Me and was featured in Sylvester Stallone's CART Racing flick Driven and is a song about missing your crush when your crush is many miles away from you. Be sure to have your Kleenex handy because this is a very emotional song. Also written by Diane Warren,
5. Can't Fight The Moonlight {From Coyote Ugly},
Remember when I told you earlier in my But I Do Love You review that Diane Warren had written three Leann Rimes songs for Coyote Ugly? This was the second Leann Rimes hit and the most popular song from Coyote Ugly and it ranks as a top anthem in dance clubs in 2000 and 2001. With a The Apprentice like intro and dancey beat no wonder why it's a favorite of Leann Rimes fans today. For the Graham Stack remix of Can't Fight The Moonlight please see my review of Leann's greatest hits cd,
6. Love's Trying To Tell Me Something,
This song is a blues-type rock song finds Leann trying to sound like BB King and it proves that Miss Rimes has a stylish hand at blues and she handles it like a pro,
7. Written In The Stars {With Elton John},
This is NOT the original version of Written In The Stars but rather the alternate version with Leann singing the intro verse rather than Elton John. This song from Disney's Aida was written by Tim Rice and Elton John who also wrote the musical too. If you want the original version of this song get the Aida Soundtrack,
8. One Of These Days,
This song is identical to Lee Ann Womack's I Hope You Dance and tells about a solider fighting in war and wishing to come home. With it's marching beat and patriotic lyics this song could've been a single due to 9/11 and the Iraq War,
9. I Believe In You,
Not to be confused with the Don Williams song of the same name. Leann sings this beautiful ballad about life and learning to live a life with the one you love. This song is also covered by one of my other favorite singers Joy Williams on her debut album and her version is also very nice too,
10. Together Forever Always,
This bluegrass song is a wonderful end to the album and tells about how important friendship should always be,
Even though this song is not on my copy i will review it here,
11. Light The Fire Within,
Leann performed this song during the lighting of the torch at the 2002 Olimpics and is a wonderful song about reaching for your dreams and having faith in yourself much like Fantasia's I Believe,

Badly slapped together album!
This album is badly thrown and slapped together. I can see why Leann Rimes didn't want this album to come out. There are some good numbers here like I Need You and Can't Fight the Moonlight and her Elton John duet, but the listening of it is a bland feeling. The Diane Warren songs borderline on sap and the other songs don't fit with her voice. I suggest that you listen to this CD one time, then throw it out the window. Just because she did some songs for soundtrack albums doesn't mean that you have to throw an album together for the public. People see through that stuff and stay away from it! .
