Marty is splendid on this Caribbean and Mexican collection Even though not all of the tunes on this collection are up to Robbins' very lofty standards, he handles them with incredible ease and leaves the listener spellbound. Marty Robbins was an extraordinarily versatile vocalist, and this collection only illuminates this fact. "Girl from Spanish Town" and "Sweet Bird of Paradise" are Mr. Robbins at his absolute best. For those who would like to hear him sing in Spanish, look no further -- what beauty! It is very apparent that Robbins had a lot of fun with this material, and his voice has never been better. You have to smile even on some of the weaker tunes like "The Mango Song" or "Bahama Mama. " His English-language Mexican-flavored hit "Camelia" is a must-have for the Robbins fan. Listening to this CD takes me instantly to a tropical paradise.
