A delightful surprise
I was greatly impressed by the strength of Marty's voice. I found this in the bargain bin and thought I'd give it a try. The arrangements weren't exactly country; nor were they the big band usually backing vocalists of that era. On several occasions, I heard what sounded like Baroque instrumentation. Overall, a unique and pleasant Christmas album. .

Great Christmas Memories
I grew up listening to Country Legends like Hank Williams, Hank Snow, Kitty Wells and Marty Robbins. Listening to this again brings back wonderful Christmas memories. This is truly one of my favorite Marty Robbins recordings. Many of the songs are unique to him and to my knowledge have not been recorded by any one else. A must have for any one who loves to listen to the great old country music.

Super Singer, Super Album
Marty's beautiful voice is well suited to the songs from the sad 'Merry Christmas To You From Me', to the more lively offerings of 'I'll Take One Of You In Every Size', 'Christmas Kisses', 'Christmas Time Is Here Again. First released way back in 1967, this is a great Christmas album by Marty combining old favorites such as 'Hark! The Herald Angels Sing' and 'Oh Little Town Of Bethlehem' with newer songs specially written for the album. ' There's not a dud track on the album and it remains one of the finest Christmas albums ever to come out of Nashville from undoubtedly the greatest singer ever to hit the town.

Didn't live up to expectations
The quality of the CD was below average, and it came with no liner notes. I found this to be a pedestrian effort at Christmas Music, not original or upbeat.
If you want classic country Christmas music look to Hank Thompson, Eddy Arnold, Randy Travis or Buck Owens.
Most Christmas music reviews are of the 'I listened to this when I was a kid and was thrilled to find it on CD here's 5 stars yadda yadda' variety. I completely understand this type of review, but they're not very helpful.
I just wanted solid, mid 60's sounding country Christmas music, avoid this CD unless you are a Marty Robbins fan.

A memory from childhood
I am so thrilled that Amazon was able to find this album for me. . I have been looking for it in CD format for a REALLY long time. This is the best Christmas album I have ever listened to. It brings back so many wonderful memories. I was weaned on Marty's Christmas album and am passing the tradition on to my children. I think they were as happy to receive the CD as I was! My kids are 18 and 16, so that says a lot. . . we all know what discriminating taste teenagers have. (Wink!) I strongly encourage everyone to pick up this CD and start a Marty Christmas in your home. His rendition of the more traditional Christmas songs ("O Little Town of Bethlehem" and "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing") are truly heartfelt and beautifully done, but I prefer the songs that aren't the standards. "One of You (In Every Size)" and "Christmas Kisses" always make me smile. If you want to be wrapped in the warm fuzzy feeling that comes along every Christmas, RUSH to buy this CD. You won't be disappointed.
