Refreshing my memories of the Jimmie Rodgers years
As I was listening backstage to one of Dean's songs. I work with Jazz and music artists , as varied as The Count Basie Orch to Dean Friedman. . . a song I loved popped into my head . . . the song was Woman from Liberia by Jimmy Rodgers . I got home and searched Amazon and found a great selection of Jimmies's songs, finaly settling on The Best of . . . .
What a great CD . . . took me right back to my teenage years which I remember thru music as being fun years . I'd forgotten the other great hits . . . Honeycomb . . Kisses sweeter than Wine . . Oh-Oh, I'm Falling in Love Again . . The Long Hot Summer . . . Waltzing Matilda . . . etc . . 18 great nostalgic songs. What a singer, and what great songs . . . . AND MAY I SAY ONCE MORE . . . WHAT A GREAT CD !!!!.


Great music I Remember from my Childhood
My siblings and I nearly wore out the LP album as kids. I have searched everywhere for Jimmie Rodgers' "Honeycomb" album to no avail. It was great to find this complilation which has most of the songs from the original. I miss songs like his version of "Puff the Magic Dragon" and "Jimmy Brown. " I love his smooth voice and the great stories he tells. Great listening.

This product was extremely clear considering the age of the recordings contained on the compact disc and I highly recommend this recording for Jimmie Rodgers fans of the current age.


Jimmie Rodgers Greates Hits
"Honeycomb" still reminds me of the 60's breakfast cereal. Jimmie Rodgers was one of the earliest "folk rockers" as he got material from Pete Seeger and other folk artists of the day. If you are interrested in this period, he might be an interesting pickup for you.

. I heard this album when I was a Teen, and it had 1 song that you very rarely hear, and again I was happy to see it on Cd at Amazon.
