De lo mejor de Silvio...
Sin embargo, casi cualquier lista de canciones favoritas de Silvio Rodriguez inevitablemente contiene el clasico "Unicornio" que cierra este album, el cual apenas es el ultimo de sus muchos increibles temas. La discografia de Silvio Rodriguez esta cargada de trabajos inolvidables, lo cual hace dificil seleccionar un album o tema que se pueda considerar como "el mejor".

Desde que "Por Quien Merece Amor" rompe el silencio, es imposible no quedar hipnotizado por la voz, la guitarra y las letras del trovador cubano. Temas politicos se balancean comodamente contra temas de amor, mientras Silvio lo lleva a uno a traves del contagioso "Son Desangrado", la adorable balada "Hoy Mi Deber", la encantadora "Primera Mentira" y el clasico "Maza".

Al final, el album resulta sin lugar a duda de lo mejor de Silvio. . . pero bien sabemos que un calificativo semejante le corresponde a la mayoria de su amplia discografia.


A monumental album
Silvio is unquestionably a reference in Latin American folk music. I believe that this is perhaps one of the best CDs in my collection as it was one of the best in my old LP collection. He's an accomplished guitar player, an amazing singer and a monumental songwriter. His lyrics in this album have a touch of César Vallejo (the Peruvian poet) and surrealism, and yet they can be humorous and incredibly moving. Unicorn, the song, has become a Latin American anthem. La Maza, La Gaviota, Por quien merece amor are pure poetic gold. If someone wants to get exposed to this Cuban artist, THIS is the CD to get introduced to his art. You'll not regret it.

Este disco es uno de mis favoritos puesto que contiene de principio a fin, mensajes inteligentes acerca de diferentes aspectos de nuestra vida cotidiana en America Latina: amor, patriotismo, nostalgias, esperanzas, temores y mas. Silvio es el gran trovador de nuestra Patria Morena. Es, simplemente, poesia pura. La musica es muy bella y lamento no ser musico para poderla apreciar desde un nivel mas tecnico. Obra de arte.


A warm-hearted voice will make you comfortable
If you are a fan of Mercedes Sosa, and also you ever heard 'Unicornio' and 'La Maza' sung by her, it's written by Silvio originally. Silvio Rodriguez is a cuban singer, who has a warm-hearted voice and led the new wave of cuban song movement(nueva trova). He is an icon of new Cuban music movement, you can check it out while istening this CD including his finest best songs. Trembling soft voice and strings will make you comfortable, and will make you in a midsummer cuban night's dream.
