Brings Back Memories I won't list the cuts since that's done better elsewhere. Nice compilation of Linda's finest music. I will say the CD was well-organized and that though these aren't all of Linda's "very best", it's still worth the purchase.
.
Almost, but not quite a career retrospective
I have a shopping weakness. . I can't resist an album by Heart or one by Linda Ronstadt. The other day I came across this CD, and although I probably have all the songs on the CD already, (with the exception of the beautiful "Adios") and it missed many of my personal favorites, it is still a wonderful collection of songs.
So here's the deal, if you are not a fan of "Country Linda Ronstadt" or "Big Band Linda", or if you are an addict like me, this is a great CD to have for the fun of it, otherwise, her Greatest Hits, Vol. 1 & 2 is a better collection as far as I'm concerned, and I would add For Sentimental Reasonsfor me. . . In any case there is nothing to complain about here, including her beautiful "Somewhere out there" and her duets with Aaron Neville, so it's all good stuff, it just misses some of my favorites.

LINDA RONSTADT IS A MUSICAL GODDESS, WORTHY FOR ALL MEN TO FALL AT HER FEET SO AS TO KISS HER TOES
LINDA RONSTADT IS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL WOMAN EVER TO GRACE THE COVERS OF LP ALBUMNS, 8 TRACK AND CASSETTE TAPES AND CD COVERS. I BECAME A FAN OF LINDA THE VERY FIRST TIME I HEARD HER SEXY VOICE ON THE RADIO IN 1975 AND THEN AT THE LA FORUM IN DECEMBER OF 1978 FOR THE LIVING IN THE USA TOUR. SHE HAS ALWAYS HAS THIS NATURAL BEAUTY ABOUT HER THAT DID NOT REQUIRE MAKE-UP OR ONE HUNDRED DOLLAR HAIR-DO'S. EACH AND EVERY SONG ON THIS CD IS OUTSTANDING.
IN 1983 I WAS LUCKY ENOUGH TO FILM LINDA'S PERFORMANCE AT WILLIE NELSON'S FOURTH OF JULY PICNIC AT GIANTS STADIUM IN NEW JERSEY. SHE WORE A BEAUTIFUL LOW CUT DRESS THAT HOT SUMMER DAY AND BELTED OUT ALL THOSE GREAT HITS SHE HAS BECOME SO WELL KNOWN FOR. THE VIDEO FEED FOR MY TV CAMERA WAS SENT DIRECTLY TO THE HUGE DIAMOND VISION BOARDS SO THAT THE SELL-OUT CROWD AT GIANTS STADIUM COULD GET A MUCH CLOSER LOOK AT LINDA AS SHE DANCED AND SANG AND WIGGLED HER HIPS, MUCH TO MY GRATIFICATION.
THE ONLY SONG I WISH LINDA HAD PUT ON THIS GREATEST HITS COLLECTION WAS HOW DO I MAKE YOU FROM THE MAD LOVE CD. LINDA DOES GREAT JUSTICE TO ANY SONG SHE COVERS, WHETHER THE SONGS WERE FIRST SANG BY BUDDY HOLLY, THE EVERLY BROTHERS OR EVEN ROY ORBISON.
LINDA HAS HAD GREAT RANGE ALL HER LIFE. I WISH SHE WOULD DO A SHOW AT A SMALL, INTIMATE VENUE IN NYC'S GREENWICH VILLAGE LIKE WEBSTER HALL. AND YES, LINDA. I AGREE, HOWARD STERN IS A NO TALENT DEGENERATE BUM, WHO TYPECASTS WOMEN AS CHEAP SEX TRAMPS WHO ARE BRAIN DEAD.
LINDA, I LUV YOU AND YOUR MUSIC, YOU'RE A GREAT CATCH FOR ANY GUY! WOULD LUV AN AUTOGRAPHED PIC OF YOU!!!
JOHNNY WATTS FROM STATEN ISLAND .
Makes me feel like a teenager again
Her range is awesome. I forgot how good a voice Linda has. The selections were the best, especiaaly the duets. Would recommend for anyone who grew up in the 60's or those who want to know what REAL music sounds like.
Not Bad!!!
I think she has an awesome and beautiful voice. I had never heard of Linda Ronstadt before, until tonight. My favorite songs so far are When Will I Be Loved, Heat Wave, It's So Easy, and That'll Be The Day. I highly recommend THE VERY BEST OF LINDA RONSTADT!!!.
