Amazing
I like Hotnights before this album. Best album I have heard in a couple years. If youre looking for a continuation of jenniebomb and kiss and tell, this is not it. but that doesnt mean it isnt amazing. maria has some great lyrics and the bands music is an 11. this was one of the few albums i have ever owned that i absolutly fell in love with the first time I heard it. . . yet didnt burn away. Great Staying power. (example: the other album that did this was The Clash's London Calling) I just wish i would have caught this album sooner and seen that tour!.

Satisfaisant.
I'm pleased with it and it's good. There's not much to say about this album. I find it sounds more commercial than their other releases. The production is awesome, The songs are all well written and are groovy & danceable. Anderssons vocals have improved tremendously over the course of the girl's career, She sounds alot like Chrissy Hynde of The Pretenders on this album. When listening to "What If Leaving Is A Loving Thing (Album)" I feel like im listening to an album from the early 80's (1981-1984)to be exact. Like with most short records I have an attitude about the tracklist being so limited, What's up with that? Is there a reason for it?. Other than that the album is classic. The song "Salty Lips" is a hit in my book, I was stolen away by it the moment I heard it, It's bouncy and energetic- that's my thing. "Loneliest City Of All" is also a big song for me, both songs have that bouncy tempo. When listening to this album I can hear "Josie & The Pussycats (the originals)" doing some of these songs. I'm so glad they put this album together, I'm really enjoying it, the band is growing. I'm completely satisfied- I wonder what's next!.

Best Swedish Band Since The Sounds
They have an edge of not a typical girl band. Yes, I know Sahara Hotnights was out before The Sounds but I didn't hear about them until recently. They're songs take you back with an oldies feel. Great album!.

What happened?
I saw a previous bad review and thought the author was a hard rock snob. I LOVE this band. I like good pop music as much as I like good rock. SH's previous were smart, funny and rocking. Everyone who I shared the group with liked them, even the hard rock and metal crowd.
The new CD commits the worst crime of all. . . it is the most boring CD I now own. Were they going for an American audience? (bland, homogenized stuff they play on the radio here). I really tried to like this. I like ABBA, the GO-GOs and many other good pop bands, but this is nowhere near that standard.
At times it reminds me of mediocre Shania Twain. . . then it just gets . . embarrasing. I'm pretty sure Miley Cyrus outrocks this.
I rarely rate stuff, but at $20+ this is pricey. Buy their first 3 CDs or look futher, there's alot of excellent music out there if you spend the time looking.
Please girls, go listen to the Kills, Sleater-Kinney or some old punk stuff (try Tristan Prettyman if you are looking for a new direction) and get your fun back before the next CD.
. . . Still love the band and will be looking for next release.

Where's the Heart
First let me say I am a big Sahara Hotnights Fan I love every single song on all 3 of their previous releases. This album was a colossal let down for me. This album however is so bland and unoriginal, They used to have a good mix of rock and pop and a sound all their own. But on this album it sounds like an overly poppy set of B-sides some of them are catchy but none of them are very distinguishable from songs that came out 10 years ago. I am still a big fan of their old stuff and I will still buy their next album, every band tries a new sound out eventually but this new sound is lacking heart and, for lack of a better word balls.
