Not their best
The songs with vocals are mostly good, and some are very good, especially Jack Lemmon and The Way I Fell For You, but most of the instrumentals are boring and mostly held together by the same melodic thread. The music on this album did fit the film quite well (the film went straight to video in the States and was never released in Britain to my knowledge), but it does not translate well to a non-soundtrack release, which is what this became when the 'Margaret' project went pear-shaped. All in all, not their best music, but pretty good for a first go at scoring a film.

Must own
The perfect Sunday morning record, also recommended for the broken hearted. One of the most beautiful, charming, fragile records i've ever herad.

Shows a great range of St E's talents, Sarah's voice, Pete and Bob's beats and arrangements.

how can one band be this good?!!!
I love this music because it evokes so much emotion without being loud or raunchy or bubblegum-pop or too safe. Whether or not you enjoyed the film "The Misadventures of Margaret" this CD is a must have for any self-respecting Saint Etienne fan. I know that this CD is pricey, but it IS worth it. Just a note: Simon Price's liner notes alone are worth the money. The man knows how to express with words, what Sarah, Pete, and Bob do with music. Enjoy.
