Customer Review A band whose b-sides should not be ignored! Etienne. I am sort of an accidental collector of St. I bought their first few singles back in the early 90's and fell in love not only with the a-sides, but quite siginificantly, the b-sides. So nowadays, every time they release a single with non-album tracks, I buy it and am always amazed at the quality of the songs. This single is definitely no exception. The two songs added to the single sound better to me than some of the material the appears on their latest album, "Finisterre," which is also a wonderful album. The first is "Andersen Unbound," which is a great retro sounding slow-tempo song with a sound of 60's and 70's era pop (complete with flutes) and sounds a bit like something Bacharach or Hazelwood would have had a hand in. Definitely fits in with the band's latest work on "Finisterre. " "7 Summers," the second non-album track is the stronger of the two and starts with more flutes, adds a great trippy and groovy base and drum part, and tops them off with Sarah Cracknell's sunny vocals about having "sand in your hair" and the passing of time. Lots of great samples and vocal "la la la's" and "oooooh's". Gorgeous! This one should have closed out "Finisterre. " Buy it and enjoy!. .
