Excellent Collection/Introduction I was working a job where I had to spend all day in my car, so I went to Walmart and picked this up. This is an excellent collection or introduction to Joe Satriani. This was my first Satriani CD, and it simply prompted me to get more. Although, I've heard more technical and faster guitarists, Joe Satriani shines when comes to simply sounding good. Having no words in these songs, he has to rely on nothing but strong melodies to keep your attention, and that is exactly what he does.
This album is composed of six rock songs, and four ballads (Sleep Walking is an excellent cover of an old instrumental song made famous by the movie La Bamba), and every single one of them is great.
My next Satriani purchase was the new album, Prof. Satchafunkilus. I would also highly recommend it. I've yet to hear a Satriani song that isn't good.
At $7 this CD is a bargain considering the high quality of the music that you're getting.
a fine compilation of Satriani songs.
99 it's a fine intro to Satriani's music. At $6. Sadly there are only 10 songs at 42:30min long. I am sure Joe has made a lot more music to add to a compilation CD. Those who like this type of music, and guitar playing, will go on to buy more Satriani, and might as well go with G3, and Steve Vai for basically more of the same.
