Satriani' s Mona Lisa. Joe Satriani. The run of notes and melodies played with such depth is truly amazing on this work from Mr. I can only begin to imagine what lies ahead in Mr. Satriani's composing.
There is groove, there is heart, and there is thought on this masterpiece of virtuoso rock guitar CD. Mr. Satriani's catalog has very exceptional work. But this one is truly super impressive. Wow!.
Joe's Back!
His music is intelligent and soulful. There are a lot of fast and flash guitarest but Joe is so much more than that. His music grows the more you listen to it. I keep bumbing the volume up. . . . you just can't help it!
This is the Joe I fell in love with! I love this disk. The man has a way of doing a spinal tap on me musically and this one hits the bone! After "Super Colossal" I was a bit worried that Joe had turned a corner but this one is true to his old form but still so very fresh. He can do that like no other. What else can I say. . . . It's JOE!.
One of my least favorite Satriani albums
" I have everything he has ever released. I'll start with the obligatory statement of "I am a huge Joe Satriani fan. However, this album almost never makes it into my CD player. None of the songs have a catchy hook. The slower songs don't really reach the 'touching' levels of Always With Me, Always With You or Ten Words, or other slow Satch songs. Don't get me wrong, for Satriani fans, it is acceptable - just not great. His playing is great as always, I just wish he would go in another direction. Revelation is decent, I suppose. But "I Just Wanna Rock?" I thought Crowd Chant shallow, now I see an even worse effort in that one. I suggest purchasing almost any other of his entries (except the bad ones mentioned above) or wait for his new project Chickenfoot.
Satch Boogie....
I've learned more about how to express yourself instrumentally from this guy than anyone else, that's not even close. I always look forward to the next Satriani release. Nobody makes the guitar "talk" like Satch. I'd really put an extra half a star on this, if possible. But to give it 4 is honestly a stretch, its a 3 and a half er. It stands out a bit more than the previous cd, "Super Colossal". Despite its title (SC), it rarely got out of second gear and seemed a tad lacking. You can always count on some gems with Joe though. . . . and Prof. Satch's first two tracks deliver that, along with the title track and "Andalusia". Satch his his usual suspects on board. . . . drummer Jeff Campetelli and bassist Matt Bissonette. .
Professor Satchafunkilus and the Musterion of Rock
I have almost everthing he has evey recorded. Joe is simply the best. At first, I thought it was too much like all the rest. Just I thought. . . after two or three listening sessions, it became my favorite! If you are a Satch fan, buy it!.
