Customer Reviews Great album you've probably not heard Years later I found it on CD and rediscovered what a great record it is. I wore out my cassette copy of MSG's Perfect Timing back in the day. A few weeks later I ordered Save Yourself (save your $$) and then this one, which I never even knew existed until recently. Note to Michael Schenker: probably not a great marketing idea to call this record MSG considering you already had an album called MSG released back in '81. Good way to confuse fans. Just look at the reviews for this disc here on Amazon--some of them are actually reviews of the '81 album. (Worthless trivia: Ratt did the same thing--an EP called RATT back in the 80's, then their big comeback disc a few years ago. Same title. Maybe they got this idea from Schenker when he played with Ratt as a sub for Robbin Crosby??? Told you it was worthless. . . ) In spite of the duplicate name, this album is really good. Jeff Pilson plays bass and James Kottak (ex-Kingdom Come, ex-Warrant, Scorpions) plays drums. The first tune, Eve, is the best song on the disc. I'm surprised I never heard it on the radio back then. Every album in this genre is apparently required to have at least a ballad or 2, and this disc is no exception. The pairing of McAuley & Schenker was great, albeit short-lived. This 3rd disc was their last. Since then, Schenker has put out about 47 more albums with about as many line-ups, but none (in my opinion) match the quality of Perfect Timing or this MSG disc. Awesome This Album opener "Eve" WILL blow your mind! It's got great,catchy melodies and blistering guitar work. This is THE best album from the MacAuley-Shenker era! It features Jeff Pilson(Dokken)on Bass and James Kottack(Kingdom Come,Warrant,Scorpions)on Drums. A definate must have for ANY guitar player or Heavy Metal music fan!. Misjudged classic This one here was the thrid and last of the McAuley Schenker Group albums. I can even see a lot of people in the previous reviews mixing this 1992 cd with the classic 2nd cd of MSG. Seems a lot of people have been putting down this era of MSG. I was a Gary Barden fan when the first two MSG albums first came out, remembering how Gary had a Dio like vocal presentation as compared to Phil Mogg, but as time went on, his voice got weak, as anyone who saw a live MSG show in 84 could attest to. So enter Robin McAuley formerly of Grand Prix. A bit of a harsher voice but fit in well. I guess peopel didn't like the fact that this new MSG had more of an LA sound as compared to the Euro-Metal of the past. But was till great stuff. In fact this 1992 MSG album had an all-star line-up in Jeff Pilson of Dokken on bass and James Kottack of the now Scorpions and Kingdom Come. Robin comes up with some very brilliant lyrics in this one, or maybe it was so to me caused it was reflecting the on-goings in my life at the time. In my opinion, this is one of the great MSG albums, and the latter MSG solo effort, liek Written in Sand, I could neve rget into them. In those he really took an LA sound and forgot about his classic rhythym guitar playing. .
