Customer Reviews Warning: Reissues! This album is a collection of some of his funkier tracks from the late 80s and early to mid 90s. With the success of A Go Go and Bump, I guess this isn't surprising. As these things go it's not bad, but the original albums are still in print and are better. If you want a good dose of the funky Sco, you're better off getting "Hand Jive" and "Groove Elation", which account for 7 of the 11 tracks included here. The other 4 tracks lean more towards his fusion/bop style. Yet another steady grooving release from the master If you haven't heard John, grab this to groove on and "Bump" or "A Go Go" to really get moving. Excellent track list, sick Scofield laying down sick riffs. A great Scofield album (again!) The band here is at its best and the collected songs reflect all Scofield's maturity as a contemporary jazz composer. I consider Steady Groovin' one of John Scofield's best albums ever.
