A Great Scorpions CD!
It's heavy, catchy, uplifting, and fun rock/metal - what the Scorpions are made of. If you like the 80's Scorpions, you should enjoy this. I don't understand the negative criticisms of some of the reviews, it really delivers as a "Scorpions album" - honestly I'd give it 5 stars as such, I only gave it 4 stars because I prefer more epic metal like Iron Maiden. .

The Scorpions in decline
The sound is there, but the songs aren't. For anyone who is a fan of late 70s early 80s Scorpions, this CD has to be a let down. I liked Alien Nation, Someone to Touch and Nightmare Avenue and even these don't match up to the best Scorpions songs. I didn't hear any real life in this CD. The playing was ok, but not spectacular and some of the lyrics were straight of a high school poetry class: ooh, these two words rhyme!

This is not a terrible CD. It's still bludgeon your head loud and Klaus Meine's voice is strong, but it doesn't have the creativity or life of the old Scorpions.

Beware Of The Alien Nation!
Just sample that Alien Nation track and tell me that it isn't rock/metal! This is REAL rock people! The music itself for Alien Nation totally kicks ass and the melody is mind blowing!

No Pain No Gain is another awesome rocker where everything just comes together perfectly! This is awesome metal here!

Ship Of Fools is another masterpiece which features an Opera singer!

I love all Scorpions albums and this is no exception! All these songs are just as good as all their other stuff! Awesome lyrics, awesome melodies, just awesome music!

The whole CD is rock and it's worth it for the Alien Nation song alone which has one of the most awesome guitar solos and hooks ever! Any Scorpions fan needs this CD in their collection, it's a must have!.

Face the 90's!!
Much heavier then the 70's and 80's. Their second CD in the nineties and it rocks just like Crazy world. My favorites are: Unholy Alliance, Hate To Be Nice, Taxman Woman and Ship Of Fools. The other are good as well. But the combination of Matthias and Rudolf is better then with any other album. But I dislike Ralph Rieckermann, Francis Buchholz was much better. But it doesn't take away the fun of the music, here's my tracklist rating, keep on rocking!!!:

Alien Nation: 8/10
No Pain No Gain: 9/10
Someone To Touch: 9/10
Under The Same Sun: 9/10
Unholy Alliance: 10/10
Woman: 10/10
Hate To Be Nice: 10/10
Taxman Woman: 10/10
Ship Of Fools: 10/10
Nightmare Avenue: 10/10
Lonely Nights: 10/10
*Destin: 9/10
*Daddy's Girl: 8/10

*= Bonus track.

This is when they started the downhill slide
Alien Nation,Under the same sun,Unholy aliance. This cd has 3 great songs. . . . the rest is utter crap. Lyrics like 'Im an alley cat with only seven lives. . . . im the trouble scratchin at your door, when the moon is out and shining bright,im getin loose just like the night before'. . . what???? Its 1993,your recording an album in vancouver B. C. and your writing pop metal lyrics???? Out of touch! The only saving grace on this cd is the three songs i mentioned before and matthias' solos. . . . .
