Very,Very Good !!!
What's the problem in wanting to reach a new audience. . This cd is To good to be true. . . at first a bit disapointed but after a few spins, actually three. . . Five stars ***** Hey, Come on, after all it's the Scorpions it's what they have in mind and it's ok for us the real fans. . . In a September 2007 podcast interview, Meine said the new album wasn't so much a "concept album" {talking about Humanity hour 1} as it was a collection of songs with a common theme. "We didn't want to make another record with songs about boys chasing girls. I mean, come on, give me a break," Meine said.

When asked if the band plans to release a Humanity - Hour II, Meine replied:

" That is what everybody is asking. There might be. Who knows? Right now we are at the beginning of the world tour. It is exciting to play the new songs and they go very well with the classics. It is exciting that there is a whole new audience out there. There are many longtime fans but there are a lot of young kids. We just played in London and in Paris and there were young kids rocking out to songs that were written way before they were born. It is amazing. I don't want to think about Hour II right now because Hour I is so exciting. It is very inspiring to see how much the audience enjoys this new music. "

I like this side of Scorpions...
It's Scorpions with a wonderful, renewed sound, fresh as if they were high school kids. Alright, when I first bought this album I would have given it 5 stars, for it just blew my mind. Klaus's voice is amazing, and the overall production is clean and shining (just compare the sound of this album to Crazy world and you'll know what I mean).

So, after 7 years of its release, I'm only giving it 4 stars, because there are so many ballads (and not precisely the group's best) in this album. 5 tracks certainly keep their jewel status through time and those are: Mysterious, Yellow butterfly, Skywriter, Aleyah and Du bist so schmutzig. I must admit that now when I listen to this record I usually skip from track 2 to 7. They're not bad songs, but I guess a little bit too mellow (except for Mind like a tree, but I never really liked the China White-kind of Scorpions sound). Im my opinion this record is much better than Unbreakable for the simple reason that they were still using their creativity to do something new and exciting, and not to try to "re-create" themselves (and failing to).

If you're a die-hard Scorps fan you must own it. If you just like the 80's stuff don't even look at it. If you are a newcomer and are interested in the band, this could be (depending on the music you like) a good start. I love Scorpions and as most everything the Scorpions does, this is great! Much better than other group's best stuff.

People who say this is bad don't understand music
These people probably just want a song they could head bang too, but some of us want a song that is unique, interesting, musically appealing, and thoughtful. People, who "claim" to be fans of Scorpions, but don't like this album simply don't understand the music. Most of the songs on this album are just that.
This is what we call maturing. It doesn't mean they don't know how to rock anymore; it simply means that they've chosen to experiment a little on this album. And, in my opinion and I'm sure many other real Scorpions fans would agree, the band was very successful with this album.
Mysterious is a great opening track. Kinda reminds me of recent U2 (although the track may be slightly too long).
Obsession is a decent ballad.
10 Light Years Away is a great, melodious rock song.
Mind Like a Tree is good for all you who want to head bang to an impersonation of Disturbed.
Eye To Eye, What You Give Back, and Skywriter are all very original, great-written songs.
And then the last 3 songs are very good as well, ending off the album nicely.
This album has a certain thing that is difficult to achieve on a lot of albums: continuity. There is a certain uniform feeling that is existant throughout the entire album and it sorta binds all the songs together so that they go hand in hand with one another. This continuity is an important thing for an album to have in order for me to deem it successful.
Thanks for reading. .

The Scorpians ?????????
I'll never forget when this came out back in 2000 and I thought "Cool, a new Scorpians CD", then went out and bought it and how SEVERLY dissapointed I was when I listened to this for the first time. Words can't properly describe how BAD this CD is until you listen to it. What were these guys thinking when they made this Stupid Disc, I mean dumb Synth/Hip Hop trendy modern sounds. This is NOT something a regular, true Scorpians fan will enjoy, much less EVER want to play again. They have redemeed themselves again by releasing "Unbreakable" and getting back to the type of music that they do well, good hard rockin' songs, not like the songs on this sorry release.

Stay far away from this if you only like the "Old" Scorpions
Of course you'll find one or another good track but all in all this album really sounds too popish. What in the name of heavens where they thinking??!! Ok, they have the right change their music but really this is a bit extreme, there are some songs here that Madonna could have used for her albums.
Just when you thought that Pure Instinct really fits with the worst Scorpions' album gold medal, here comes Eye II Eye to take the medal away.
