Customer Reviews
1 star for shipping but well worth the wait
When I ordered it in August, it said it was available, but after 4+ months of back ordered delays, it finally came in. This CD was well worth the wait. I had this album on cassette tape a long time ago and loved it then. I think this album, different than the other greatest hits albums, is the only one with the Meet Me In Montana duet with Marie Osmond, and that song alone was worth the wait. Many memories.

Dan's Best CD (like other reviewers said) BUT ALSO: BEST SONICALLY!
The CD has variety. This CD has great Dan Seals performance. The songs are hearfelt. BUT ALSO -- AND THIS IS AMAZING: THE SONICS ON THIS CD ARE AMONG THE BEST OF ANY CD (and yes, usually country/western has much higher production values than any other genre, but this CD goes beyond even that standard!) FOR THE HI-END AUDIOPHILE WHO NEEDS "DEMO" MATERIAL of MUSIC THAT IS ACTUALLY ENJOYABLE TO LISTEN TO (not boring) THIS CD COULD EASILY BE USED TO SELL $4,000 CD PLAYERS. If you just like Dan Seals, well hey all the reviewers (rightly so) told you how great Dan and this CD are. The sonics, though, are even more impressive.

Classic eighties country music
You may remember them for I'd really love to see you tonight. Dan Seals first achieved fame in the seventies as one half of England Dan and John Ford Coley. Eventually, Dan and John went their separate ways. Dan switched to country music and was very successful for a few years. This collection contains his most successful songs, many of them being number one hits on the country charts. Although Dan's music had a contemporary edge, it was rooted in tradition so most fans of traditional country should be able to appreciate it.

Among the many excellent songs here, the best of all is Meet me on Montana, an outstanding duet with Marie Osmond. If you have made up your mind about Marie based on her seventies pop music, you are in for the same surprise that I got. Before I came across this song, I ignored Marie's music. When I first heard this duet in the eighties, I was blown away and I have since bought some of Marie's country albums.

Most of the songs here are ballads but Bop (as the title suggests) is one to get your toes tapping. Three-time loser (despite its title) is another brilliant up-tempo song. The remaining songs are all excellent though my favorites among them are God must be a cowboy, Everything that glitters and One friend.

If you enjoy eighties country music, you'll love this album.
