Excellent
Apart from this, This Compilation is Excellent. This is a great compilation, it has almost every single hit of Bob Seger, the only criticism that i have is that it only features studio tracks, and some singles are better live than in studio, such as Turn the page, etc.

more awesome songs by Bob Seger--but we still didn't get them all
While some of Bob's very best music is inexplicably still missing, these tracks are excellent music and they showcase Bob's talent every step of the way. This second volume of Bob's hits is good for both new and old fans alike; the first CD clearly wasn't enough to represent all that this artist has done. The quality of the sound on this CD is excellent and the artwork reflects good judgment.

The album starts with "Understanding;" Bob does a great job on this track. His voice is in excellent form; and the music perfectly accompanies his vocals. "Understanding" has a great beat and Bob's natural phrasing enhances his performance even more--great! "The Fire Down Below" really rocks; I love this number and it's a major highlight of this CD. "The Fire Down Below" uses the guitars to great advantage and Bob sings this without letting go of a single superfluous note! I love it. "Her Strut" is another rockin' tune as well.

"Beautiful Loser" has a melody that's quite strong and memorable; this is Bob at his best and it's another major highlight of this CD. Bob's excellent diction makes his performance all the better, too. "Sunspot Baby" is another tune that lets Bob open up and rock really well; "Sunspot Baby" is awesome and it all holds its own very well. "Sunspot Baby" leaves nothing to be desired--this music is all THAT good. Of course, "Katmandu" is a great Bob Seger hit; this is an example of a song that should have been on the first volume of Bob's hits but at least they finally added it here. "Katmandu" is again Bob at his very best; this rocks and that harmonica really sounds good, too!

"Shame on the Moon" is poignant, to say the least; and Bob delivers this most sensitively. "Fire Lake" also should have been on the first volume of Bob's hits; this is one incredible tune! Although the music is just right, the musicians don't try to steal the show away from Bob--he remains squarely front and center where he belongs! "Shakedown" is a somewhat lesser known Seger tune but it has Bob rockin' really well; and "New Coat of Paint" is very impressive. Bob sings with all his heart and soul on "New Coat of Paint;" and that's awesome.

"Rock And Roll Never Forgets" gets the royal treatment from Bob as he does this to perfection--and beyond! That somewhat bluesy "Satisfied" proves that Bob still has everything it takes to be a superstar; and "Tomorrow" has an arrangement that works very well; it just plain sounds good and Bob plays that guitar like the pro he is and still remains!

Bob Seger's second greatest hits CD may not provide fans with everything they wanted; for example "Feels Like a Number" and "Even Now" are nowhere to be found here. On the other hand, this is still a pretty strong album with Bob performing at his usual very best. Hopefully there will be at least a third volume of Bob Seger's greatest hits that will finally give his fans all the big, big Seger tunes.

1 CD 1 Hit
;) Except that I believe it is a conspiracy, and a darn good one, to force you to buy a CD for each of his big hits! ;-) What I always think of when Bob Seger is mentioned : David Letterman advertising 'Bob Seger on his "I Won't Be There" tour'. What can you say about Bob. . . ;) Enjoy!.

Bobs best
It has some of his best, yet less well know songs, my personal faveret is "Sunspot Baby". This is a must have for all true Bob Seger fans.
