What a waste of plastic and energy
). I bought this nine years ago because it was the only Selena CD available at the time where I shopped at (Walmart, K-Mart, etc. I've been to concerts, and the concerts usually last an hour or more. Was I in for a shock when I found that there was only actually 5 or 6 live songs and the other two were studio recordings, and "La Llamada" I found very annoying and I don't like that song. I would of demanded my money back if I went to that conert and they only sang six songs. While the songs are a basic introduction to her songs, I was disappointed in it, although I listened to it for awhile because it was my only Selena CD. What stymies the imagination is that I heard she won Best Live Album at the Grammy's with this CD? How in the world did that happen unless her album was the only one in the running or the others were so bad that hers was the best out of all of them? This CD is a waste of plastic. She has other CDs that are WAY, WAY much better than this one, so save your moeny. If you think you have to have it, go to those music websites where you can download music either free or for 99 cents and you'll save youself a whole heap of money for a worthless CD. JMHO. .


SELENA'S UP-LIFTING GRAMMY WINNER
Selena's searing vocals are showcased on this record, as well as one over-enthusiastic female fan you may hear scream from time to time. Recording your live album in your hometown (in this case, Corpus Christi) is a cheat sheet for success, and this happens to not be an exception. It isn't hard to see why this album won a Grammy back in 1993, or why it continues to be a fan favorite. Along with all of it's live tracks, it contains three bonus tracks. The bouncy "No Debes Jugar" is like a "Bidi Bidi Bom Bom"-lite, and it just as amazingly performed and amazingly catchy. "Robaste Mi Corazon" Is a heartfelt ballad that finally matches Selena up with some one of nearly equal vocal talent ("Buenos Amigos" was just plain embarassing in that respect. . . Selena overpowered her male counterpart so blatanly), and "La llamada" is just as jaunty and firey. The live tracks are expertly performed, and the crowd is just as enthusiastic as Selena, adding extra excitement. The only place where this disk falls short is the songs Pete Astudillo is allowed to sing. Not that he lacks any talent, it's just Selena's album for god's sake. Not only that, but on "Ven Conmigo" Selena allows the crowd to sing the beautiful chorus. While this isn't totally dissapointing, it would be more interesting to hear the superstar sing it herself. Over-all, this album is a must-have. But if you want the supreme live album, I suggest the 2001 release of "Live: the last concert. ".


A Beautifull and touching well done masterpiece!
The music is espectacular , her voice is phenomenal and her love for the fans is so beatifull that by just listening to this recording you can feel her love as well. This Grammy winner remastered cd is one of the best cds done by one of latin's greatest singer Selena Quintanilla Perez.
The spoken liner notes by family and band members are so touching and beautifull giving the fans a bit of history about each song on the cd.
This cd is a must have for every Selena and Los Dinos fans outthere, and even if you are just getting to know Selena now I recommend 100% I guarantee you that it will be worth it.
