The Shad's in their prime.
Most of their best numbers are here. This album is an excellent album. I like hearing the songs in both mono and stereo. I give it a five.

classic guitar instrumentals
It's incredible that the Shadows never broke here at all in the states. Many amazing, outstanding songs on this CD. The Shadows songs are the Holy Grail of instrumental guitar music of the 60's. The songs on this alblum are superior to anything the Ventures ever did. A must buy. .

The one to get...
For a heady period of around two years from mid 1960 The Shadows delivered some brilliant and timeless music. . coupled with, and followed by, a vast amount of MOR muzak. But, unlike the other incomplete or "do I really want to hear what happened next?" compilations out there this one's the only one that's got all the classics: "Apache", "FBI", "Wonderful Land", "The Savage", "The Stranger", "Midnight", "36-24-36", and the breathtakingly beautiful, pure early 60's "Peace Pipe". Perfectly formed examples of a lost world of guitar driven excitement & atmosphere.
