Too rare, but worth the effort to obtain a copy
This lovely lady should still have plenty of fans out there, and this is something that should be in any fan's collection. Unfortunately this item is far too rare to find which is just a cryin' shame.

Sultry, soulful, mellow, uplifting, and insightful are just a few of the words that could be used to talk about this lady's music.

Understand, Vonda Shepard somewhat jumped into the limelight thanks to her inclusion as a featured performer on the Ally McBeal TV series. The music she did for that show was mostly covers of songs made famous by many others. Listen to her own works instead and you get a much better appreciation for the quality of her work. Yes she can belt out those pop standards, but she can also provide a nice range of other music too.

If you are lucky enough to find this item available, try to get the version with the bonus DVD. It includes interviews with select individuals that have worked with Vonda Shepard in various capacities, including Emily Saliers (Indigo Girls), David E. Kelley (Writer/Creator/Producer of multiple TV shows, including Ally McBeal), Greg Germann (Actor, Ally McBeal) and Jackson Browne (musician).

The cd, as one would expect from a retrospective, includes songs from over Vonda Shepard's entire career. A few songs from each of the albums (CD's, collections) that she has done. While not quite as enjoyable as seeing her in person, the music is here for listeners to enjoy.

Of note: the music CD in this package is clearly labelled as being copy protected. Note that says copy protected, not copyrighted (it is also of copyrighted). It is noted as using a form of copy protection that will keep the CD from playing in a PC drive or CD burner. Do be aware of this before purchasing.

Amazing!
Vonda Shepard is amazing as a Singer/songwriter and she's even more amazing live! (Hard to believe, ha? lol) You can totally see it on the DvD! She's fabulous and that's what other artists say about her on the Dvd (There are interviews of Julia Fordham, Mitchell Froom (the producer of great artists like the Corrs, Daniel Powter, Sheryl Crow. . . ), David E Kelley (the producer of the Ally McBeal, Boston Public, The Practice, Boston Legal), and the two great singersongwriters of Indigo Girls!

I recommand you that great CD + DvD bonus. . . You'll see it totally worth it! .
