Realy Cool Peformance Daniel Johns is an amazing performer and as this cd/dvd shows he is also an amazing guitarist and alround musician. Live from far away stables is an excelent buy. High points of this dvd for me is when Daniel takes an amzing solo at the start of huge Australian hit Freak and the incrediably funky version of the door. The set is full of exciting improvised sections in which Daniel usualy takes some awesome solo and then starts singing some weird lyric in a intresting voice. A diorama B side Asylum is also included in the set which is a beautiful song. This is an awesome package. .
Very nice
The thing is that here in Australia, it's the same price as any other album and you still get the full package, so it really makes it an excellent investment. This is a very nice little package, but unfortionately for those of you who have to import it, it looks as though it's a rather expensive buy.
Anyway. . . the show is fantastic, the band's stage presence is very vibrant and the performances are tighter than ever. There's some fun little twists on select songs such as "The Door," Emotion Sickness," "The Lever" and a few more I think? Daniel Johns is a natural stage performer and frontman, using his playful ways to enhance the vocal and guitar performances.
This is just a really cool thing to watch or listen to, but I definately prefer to watch it!.
Quite Possibly The Best DVD ever?
I sat in my (Silverchair-theme) room the day I got it, and it completely blew me away. I just recently received this DVD after four months of waiting for it to be in stock, and let me tell you, those four months of waiting definitely were worth the wait. I've never seen a better concert (live show) than this one. It is definitely my favourite music DVD that I own. I love Silverchair, and have since Neon Ballroom era. That's the first time I really heard of them, and I heard their Ana's Song(Open Fire) on TV. After that, I heard Anthem For The Year 2000, and was blown away, later recognizing their vibrant tune Tomorrow on the radio. I bought their Neon Ballroom CD, followed by Freak Show, and then Frogstomp. And just when I thought I had everything I could ask for from them, Diorama came out. I heard The Greatest View online, and fell in love with it, so obviously went out and bought the CD. It is the best CD of theirs by far, and (how Daniel describes it) really is like a magical musical place that when you put headphones on, it transports you to this serene beautiful sounding place. I love the setlist in this DVD, and every song, he really puts a lot of emotion into it. I also love the plus of the 2 CDs, that way you can listen to it in your car as well. Silverchair is definitely a rock legend now, and to all of you complaining about "what happened to their old sound, now they're just orchistra/pop sissies". . . Silverchair is one of the best bands ever to exist!.
I LOVE this cd/dvd
all i can say is that this is an amazing cd. I bought my live from faraway stables from the silverchair website, and i didn't have to pay any shipping (even though it was all the way from AUSTRALIA!!!) and it was actually cheaper than it is on this site. the dvd is awesome to watch (just make sure that you buy the correct zone). the songs on it are great and they even have the b-side "Asylum" which is a beautiful song. BUY IT!!!.
AMAZING!!!
From start to finish this package is pure genius. I'm so happy Silverchair has finally decided to do a live album. From the beautiful After All These Years to the funk rock of The Lever it's an incredible concert. The album is divided into sets and it really incapturates both sides of silverchair as Daniel puts it.
A few weakness I've noticed with this album, however is that Daniel's guitar tends to be really low at times espicailly on Emotion Sickness. I'm surprised the orchastration is very high becuase Daniel always said that he didn't like overdubs.
Highlights of the DVD and the entire tour for me were the funked up versions of The Door, Anthem For The Year 2000 and The Lever.
If you enjoy Silverchair and appreciate their musical diversity then this package is perfect.
