You cant go wrong with the Boss!
To my surprise they rocked the house down! If your a die hard Bruce fan you will love this album. Anyone who saw this tour wondered how Bruce would be without the E Street band. Most of the songs you wont hear at a Bruce show since most songs are from Lucky Town and Human Touch. This version of Atlanic City may be this best song on this album. Great value!.

OK Bruce...
Not a great CD, not a bad CD. . but worth it for the killer version of "Thunder Road. " As a Jersey Guy, I was never a fan of Bruce without the E Street Band, but this one track makes it all worthwhile.

It's Springsteen~It has to be good!
For the casual fan it is well worth it for the simple fact that it is Bruce doing what Bruce does best. For the devoted fan of "The Boss" this CD will be a purchase without question. . . singing in a live setting. Many of his die hard fans will tell you that they became that way after seeing Springsteen live. . . I am no exception.

This has very good versions of "Lucky Town," "Human Touch," "Darkness on the Edge of Town," and others. For me, the primary reason is the live version of "Thunder Road" my favorite Springsteen song. . . it doesn't dissappoint. . . neither does this CD.

Quite good
I like Bruce, though not as feverently as my siblings. I grew up listening to Bruce's music, official and bootlegged, so much it's part of my DNA. Reading what I've read, and hearing what I'm hearing for the first time, I think the Plugged cd is quite good. Older songs are refreshed, newer songs, dripping with energy. I know how good the E Street Band are, believe me, but this band he was playing with enabled Bruce to do something different, and perhaps to do something basically for himself. I think he succeeded in a big way. A chance to play with other people and reinterpret his catalog. Dylan does it all the time, and everyone knows about the history of comparison between those two. Regretfully the 'fans' couldn't accept the change. .

MTV Plugged?
This CD offers no new material that can't be found elsewhere, and is basically nothing more than a "live in concert" CD that just so happened to be filmed by MTV. I'm a big fan of "The Boss", but for the life of me, can't fathom why he is unable to follow the lead of larger acts, and actually "unplug" for MTV Unplugged.

This concert took place in 1992, and you know it's pretty bad when you have bands ribbing you three years later about going on MTV UNPlugged, and then having to go and plug in. It's not like Bruce doesn't know how to play acoustic guitar, because he does. I'm a big acoustic guitar fan, and for someone of Bruce's talent level, to not be able to write songs that can be played acoustically only serves to bring down the level of respect I have for his talent.

Not what I would consider an essential recording, and not recommended, unless you are such a die-hard "Boss" fan that you have to own every album he puts out. Otherwise, save your money.
