Best album from this band Not the case here. Usually first albums lose their luster once you put a few years on them and see what else the band produces. The best album to be put out so far. Unique sound and vibe that you just can't find anywhere else.
Very good!
This is a must buy for any major Static-x fan. I liked pretty much every song, there are only two slow songs and they are pretty good themselves.
A repetetive barrage of cliches
Literally, all of the songs sound the same! The lyrics are abrasive, but with less feeling than Trent Reznor's; in fact, they sound more like Rob Zombie's. This is probably one of the least-talented groups I have ever heard; I can barely believe they have any fans, let alone a record deal and a hit CD! This album consists mainly of variations on one idiotically simple song structure -- 3 chords with screamed vocals, fast and heavy. Writer Wayne Static seems to have the same obsession with the scatological (e. g. "I am", "Love Dump") that one might expect of a 12-year-old boy. The main instruments on this CD are slashed industrial-rock guitars, and the presence of common, overused synthesizer effects do nothing to improve the overall sound. They have none of the innovation or politics of Rage Against the Machine, none of the cheesy amusement of Rob Zombie, and none of the imagination or heartfeltness of Nine Inch Nails. Instead of innovating, they merely rehash the same old devices.
Exstatic about Static-X
Here we have an album with Metallica worthy guitar, mixed with Powerman 5000 attiude and a Rob Zombie like voice. This is one of my best overall cd's. Good mix! Static-X is one of the most promising bands out right now. Rock on Static-X!.
Keep disco evil!
This album combines several musical qualities to make a hard rock album with real metal that also makes great dance music! And my brother said,NOTHING, you idiots he's dead! I got him locked in my basement! So remember, KEEP DISCO EVIL!.
