Hello, my name is Johhny!
25 that I payed for it. Ok, I got this off of ebay, and it was worth the $4. System of a Down is the best band, and this single is worth the price for the song Johnny alone. Johnny is one of SOAD's best songs and it's a pitty that it isn't released on any of their mainstream albums for everyone to hear. The two live recordings are a little weak.
Chop Suey! 5/5
Johnny 5/5
Sugar [Live] 3/5
War? [Live] 3/5.

Great!
If the music wasn't enough to get you to like it, then the singing was (unless you happen to be insane). Alright, this song is amazingly brilliant. People who enjoy pop above all else still love this song, even though they continue to adhere to the mentality that their radio-enslaved taste is somehow even remotely acceptable. Their memory, belonging to their obviously intellectually-deprived mind still fails to know that this song was performed and written by System of a Down. They know it as Chop Suey, that's it.

Really, I hear this song every day on the only good radio station around here. . . it's still that great.

Anyways, one thing I've noticed about the lyrical brilliance in this song is the fact that the second line (Grab a brush and put a little make up) has ten syllables, as does the third line (Hide the scars to fade away the shake-up) and the fourth line (Here you go create another fable). I think this is intentional, and in fact, when I have the time I'm going to investigate as to whether or not System of a Down does this in any of their other great songs. If they did, they would have infinitely more respect from me (though they are my favorite band by a mile).

Not only is this product worth it, but so is their three albums and their other Singles. Enjoy listening to it.

Easily the best song I have EVER heard!
The song has so much dynamics, is amazingly original, and has so many different aspects in the three and a half minutes this song spans it is hard to comprehend. 'Chop Suey' from System of a Down's sophomore album 'Toxicity' is easily the best rock song in the past decade and one of the best hard rock songs ever. . .

The track starts off with a guitar playing softly the back ground playing a slightly trilled melody. After that, another guitar comes in and has a louder counter-melody. Then the guitar with the counter-melody joins in with the main melody and the percussion breaks out (the song continues to get louder). Just after the :30 mark, the guitar melody turns to a hard-hitting riff with heavy percussion. After that, Serj comes in yelling 'Wake Up!'. Then a barely audible whisper of 'wake up. . . '. Then immediately: 'Grab a brush and put on a little make up'. This goes on with other lines, him saying a line, then a pause with a whisper then another line right after in a yelling voice! After one full round of that, he repeats the verse, instead putting in a yell of 'You wanted to' before launching into the next line. This clearly shows the amazing voice range of Serj and lyrical originality and technicality of this song! Serj probably has the most talented voice in rock, not to mention emotional!

My favourite part in the song is when Darrin Malakian (guitarist/backup vocals) is doing a harmony with Serj [Tankian]where the guitars have been really dubbed down and there is a piano part (a work of genius) that plays with Serj and Darrin that just ends the song off really nicely.

Overall, this song is absolutely amazing because of its superior guitar work, well performed and complex drums, and a spectacular performance by Serj on vocals!.
