Good Sound Quality, Not Enough
I would have left off "Walking Man" and "Something in the Way She Moves", neither of which were singles hits. The sound quality is excellent, but there are only 12 songs, and not all of them should be included as greatest hits. And I would have included songs like "Long Ago and Far Away" and "Mockingbird", both top 40 singles hits.

Be advised that "Steamroller" is a live version, albeit a good one.

For a 2004 issue, this CD should have "Volume One" included in the title.

FYI: I'm a record collector of 55 years and a sometimes deejay.


Very Pleasing!!!
We only wish this CD had included a few more songs. If you like James Taylor, you will like this CD! It has many of his biggest hits and together with his Greatest Hits Volume 2 CD, you will have almost all of his very best stuff! The recordings and song arrangement were good, making for a pleasant listening experience. We liked it, very glad we purchased this!.


A different James Taylor than "Fire & Rain."
I was WRONG. I bought this album because I heard the song, "Fire & Rain," and assumed that the rest of the album would also be filled with great songs. The last song is worst of all, complete with the worst words of profanity. Be warned in advance! I did end up saving the songs I liked to my computer and then listed this album as for sale on my Amazon seller account. Just an idea. It was a disappointment when I heard this particular album which included, in my opinion, a number of "not so great hits. ".

com, i get whatever i want on here, i just recently purchased james taylor music. I love amazon. I enjoy listening to all kinds of music and james taylor music was wonderful no scratches on cd just like brand new. i love this cd very much.

I really enjoyed this CD. I like James Taylor and here are all his hits.
A good value.
