TFC 4EVER
After spending weeks listening continously to tracks of all TFC albums days and nights, I conclude 13 is the best. I have the fortune (or misfortune) to have discovered TFC only recently. BTW I am 55 years old and have been listneing to pop, rock etc since 1960.

An amazing rock album in every sense!
Teenage Fanclub, though severely never given proper credit, mastered the melodic classic rock sound on their debut album "Bandwagonesque", but this album is even more of a throwback to 70's harmonizing rock music, but with an edge that makes it fresh and alive. Both rock and classic rock music fans will agree if given it a chance to work its magic on you. The Fannies are excellent musical craftsmen and serve up the kind of harmonizing vocals that even the most loyal Byrds fans have to give props to. Because of its length and quantity of great tracks, its a great listen to when on a long drive, hanging out at the park or beach, or heck just about anything. But the best thing about this album, is that you just keep on discovering new 'favorites' until the point that you just cant list a few standout tracks. Many of these songs would have been Top 40 hits if they were recorded by some of the popular rock acts of the 60's and 70's, but us Fannie fans probably don't mind. We kinda like breaking their albums out and having people go, wow who's that? .

A brillient music album by a band known for writing pop
The album is nothing short of amazing. Teenage Fanclub's musical ablity and emotion is showed at its best on this album. It's not quite pop though, so if you are expecting another album of similar style to their others you might be surprised. It's a far less happy and far more difficult album. The lyrics are simple but they become better with each listen.

Despite the fact it is called Thirteen and may feel teenage at first, it is the most grown up music the group has written. It goes far beyond pop and is quite an interesting listen. I would prefer this album to many newer bands like Coldplay, Jet, The White Stripes, The Strokes, etc. because the quality of the music is not even comparable. Teenage Fanclub deserves a place in music history well before any of these bands. Buy the album and enjoy it.
