A great album for 5 bucks
Lots of great hits. This cd is a great purchase if you can get it for 5 bucks. If you want a more thorough hits cd from Tesla, pony up an extra 5 bucks for Time's Makin' Changes cd, it has more songs and more hits.

Get educated

Darn glad I did. Honest injun I'd never explored the Tesla deal before seeing this collection cheap and thought what they hay. Cos in a nutshell this is what you get;

Solid songs like Hang Tough and Modern Day Cowboy starting things off and the whole things hangs together well. Upbeat songs - sticking to the working mans rock schtick that the band plied their whole career. The slightly slower paced songs chug along nicely and this disc is perfect for popping into your car stereo. Which would make sense as the liner notes state that their singer was a former truck driver. So no wonder this compilation is full of driving tunes.

Another bonus is the ballads don't totally suck. Always a pitfall for any band. And checking out the lyrics to the song Signs brought a wry smile to my face, this band obviously had a sense of humour which is nice to hear.

This dics is a fine place to start if you've never heard any Tesla before. At least, armed with the track listing and a notation of your personal faves, you can start sifting through their back catalogue for the albums that are most likely to float your boat.

Rock on....
A must have . Well very good collection of songs, the Cds jackets gives some details about the band, but we all know what makes a band is the awesome music and lyrics.

"Time's Makin' Changes" is better...
It also throws in a nice ballad called "Tried So Hard". This CD restores two songs that were woefully missing from "Time's Makin' Changes: The Best of Tesla" - "Hang Tough" and "Call It What You Want". But in doing so, it leaves out three other great tunes - "Gettin' Better", "Changes" and the song that is one of Tesla's top two or three best-known, "Little Suzi", along with a few others available on "Time's Makin' Changes". So, despite the digital remastering, I would say that "Time's Makin' Changes" is your better bet. Perhaps someday they'll get it right.

Not just another greatest hits
As we wait for new material to be released, this greatest hits package delivers a worthwhile group of their best songs, and is another one of those, "I just can't take it out of my CD player" types of disc. Tesla has always been known for it's 'common man' rock 'n roll. If you don't have ANY Tesla cd's, this is a good one to start with. If you're a fan, you need this one.
