Solid, enjoyable record I would say this is not quite as good as some of their records from their heyday. The songs are good, the Tesla sound is there, I'm glad that they are still putting out good music unlike some bands that started in the eighties.
Tesla is Rock n' Roll at it's finest
They aren't trying to re-hash the 80's, they aren't trying to copy other successfull acts from the 2000's, they're just playing straight ahead rock n' roll. Into the Now is the best album Tesla has made.
Innovative, fresh and invigorating every song works. Predictably Keith has lost some of the range he had 20 years ago but he still pulls you into each song. Although it's been 10 years since their last studio album the musicianship has only improved. Each song has depth and layers that other bands only wish they could produce. The stuff they do with only guitars is amazing.
Rockers like 'Recognize', 'Into the Now', 'Look @ Me', 'Miles Away' and 'Got No Glory' are top notch. Even the quirky 'Mighty Mouse' (yes the cartoon Mighty Mouse) rocks your socks off.
True to form even the slower songs 'Words Can't Explain' and 'Cuaght In a Dream' aren't sticky sweet but they do make you pause and think about life.
Honestly I was mildly surprised with this album as previous Tesla records have routinely had "filler" songs. Not so here. Each song is an acoustic adventure. Enjoy the ride.
I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS ALBUM!!!!
So I was a little skeptical 10 years later with "Into the Now". Avid Tesla fan here, but I must admit I was not a huge fan of "Bust A Nut". In fact it took a year or so to buy the thing. I then found out shortly I was dead wrong!!! This one rocks, big time. After having it for a while now, it is still my favorite Tesla album hands down. And I love the other ones! Since there is no radio play to warm these songs up, they take a while to get a hold of you, but then they do, and they don't let go! Killer licks and lyrics, through and through. The opening guitar torrents on "Recognize" are nothing short of astounding. "Heaven 9/11" is awesome and would have hit the charts hard if it had ever gotten air time. That is a theme with this record; the songs are so diverse and good, you find yourself wondering how this album did not make it onto the airwaves and win tons of awards. I guess that makes it all the more special, such a hidden gem. My thirteen year old daughter even started listening, and now has her own CD. That says alot, let me tell you, with the Rap and HipHop that normally hits her ears. There's hope for youth yet, and it starts with TESLA!!!!!!.
Final touches to great band
That they still had something to say and wanted it be the "Tesla" way. For me, this ablum summed up all that was still in this band. They did a great job on this ablum and so this being their last album, I would want it my collection to show all the greatness they had to offer us!!.
Great comeback cd!!!
This is one of there best cd's and a great comeback!!! The song writing has matured and still great guitar playing!!!!! Every song is good and the more you listen to it the more it will grow on you!!!!
Great cd from a great band!!!!. Alot of bands from the 80's attempt comeback cd's that blow up in there faces.
