Brilliant!

Buy this album now. This album is a must have if you are a Testament or a ThrashMetal fan! The title song is simply awesome and one of the best Metal songs ever!

This album has not been remastered but the soundquality is very good. . .

. . . or wait for the remastered version :).

Sounds the same yet different.
But I don't know what it is exactly, but it sounds different at the same time. Testament's "Souls of Black" had songs that were relatively familiar in sound to their 3 albums that preceded this CD. Perhaps it's more melodic like in "Practice What You Preach" but containing more fast thrash like elements in "The Legacy"? That's what I seem to hear on this record. It's fairly progressive though, but it's definitely Testament and not bad. They even have an excellent ballad like song "The Legacy" which I think is the best song on this album. Songwriting on this album is a little less in quality compared to their older works, but nonetheless this is a pretty solid album.

good but not the best
Even though I loved Megadeth and Manowar too much at the time, I've always had a special love in Testament. Testament has been my favorite metal band ever. It's mostly because of Alex Skolnick, who is one of Satriani's students, that created his own style and licks , without copying Satriani's. (Testament has never been the same after he left). and also Peterson, Clemente and Christian were monsters at their instruments, with Billy and his killing vocal, creating incredible music and lyrics. so why I gave 4 stars to this album?? There are masterpieces like "Souls of Black", "Legacy" and "Seven Days of May" in this album but, there are two or three songs that resembles each other. This album is worth to buy but not perfect as "the new order" and "practice what you preach".
