classic testament live a true must have for testament fans to bad they will leave this form and not record much good matterial till 99 the gathering. this cd is/was vital an excellent proformance at a crossroads in their career with james murphy replacing alex scholnick on guitar with a unset/prement drummer at this time i would have loved to see paul bostoph record this instead of the live ep but they are in rare form for this fueled live cd ranging from legacy to low most of the classics covered.
THE live album
I felt the ritual was a huge let down but my eyes were opened from low and their ability to thrash and bring forth a new energy. I have been a big thrash fan for a long time, Souls of Black was my intro to testament. That energy was reborn and brought to all the tracks on this CD. Live At The Filmore has a life of its own, it is the first time I really enjoyed some of the old school great classics of testament that always felt under produced. this cd brings forth life and energy to some great works that needed just that added production. I have honestly never been a fan of live albums, but this was amazing and the unplugged stuff at the end just topped it. if your a testament fan this is a must. .
Best Death Metal Band, Especially Live!
I like Slayer, Maiden, Fear Factory and such but a lot of it just turns me off. Let me preface this by saying I'm not a huge metal fan let alone death metal fan.
This is the best metal live album made and #2 is about 1,000,000 light years behind!
This was the first CD I bought after starting college(UC Davis!) when I heard it playing from the stereo of my future roommate, bandmate, best friend, etc. on the first night in the dorms. That was in 1995. . .
I saw Testament four times that year and several other times since then. They are great and this album proves that several times over. From the concert to the awesome acoustic studio tracks.
I'm listening to it again in 2006 and it's still unbelievable. Now if I could just go back to '95. . . Well this at least brings me close.
there's nothing like live Testament
this disc is awesome. Testament should be one of the "big 4" of thrash metal since Metallica wimped out. every song, whether I have heard it or not, is a standout.
Couldn't get any better
The sound quality is amazing and the choice of songs is perfect. I just wanted to say this is by far the best live album I own.
The acoustic tracks in the end are the perfect way to close the album (besides being exceptionally well done too!!)
I highly recommend this album!!.
