Customer Reviews Great Album....but is the bonus track worth it? I loved it so much that I decided to put down some extra dough and purchase the Japanese import with the extra track "Hammer of the Gods". The Gathering is quit simply the best metal album I have heard in years. Hammer of the Gods actually doesn't live up to its name. It's just a slow intrmental that lacks punch. It really doesn't even sound like Testament. Die Hard collectors might want to get the Japanese release to get this track, but I wish I didn't spend the extra dough for it. I recommend some good, hard thinking before you decide to get this Japanese release with the bonus track. They can still trash... Is it worthy? I recommend this japanese edition to any die-hard fan who has to have everything. So, you're paying "good money" for Hammer of The Gods. In other case, forget it! Hammer Of the Gods is an instrumental. It is nothing supreme or hyper-technical. Eric Peterson shows some of his guitar skills. The song has a unique riff that sounds from beginning to end, with drums. Don't expect anything violent, diverse and technical, with different clinates like the great "Urotsukidoji" from the "LOW" album. "Hammer. . . " is shorter and a bit motonous. I think this can persuade you to buy this album or not. You won't say GUAAAAUUUUU!! You will say O. K. . . Think about more than twice spending 35 bucks for an instrumental!. .
