Grass and Fruit It is so #$@&ing weird! Hilarious lyrics with a serious and melancholy overtone make for a fine listen. "Grass Skirt, Fruit Hat", friends, it's all about that song. I couldn't care less if the album means anything or doesn't. Even if it means squat it still takes someone mentally "interesting" to think up lyrical flow like that. I personally think it's an offshoot of genius. I also must say I've never experienced an atmosphere anything like what's presented in "Death of a Thespian", and the metaphorical nonsense of "Joyful toy of 1001 Faces" is mind-boggling. I also enjoy the first track, although I can't imagine why. Jel lays down some pretty catchy beats to Doses's ADD-inspired rambling as well. Themselves topped themselves with "The No Music", where we switch from listening about the "Body of John Brown" to Dose's desire to masturbate in a planetarium and from standard rap beats to thick electronic buzz. Excellent!. fantabulous Doseone is currently the most amazing mc i can think of and Jel is quickly becoming a favorite producer. i've enjoyed quite a few of the anticon releases in my time and no more so than THEM. there's not a song that doesn't deliver in every sense of the word, including the secret skit at the end. i like the no music, but this is by far the best thing Dose and Jel have done together. The Producers are great on this album Beats were done by Jel-J. Here goes my review of each song on here. Rawls & Moodswing among others. This one has some excellent beats also has some great rapping with it. 1. Directions to my special place-?-10/9/9=90 I think it is a instrumental track so the lyrics and flow would not be added 2. Joyful Toy of a Thousand Faces-10/10/9/7/8=89 This has great lyrics and also a great mix and the next song is the same 4. Eating Homework-8/10/8/6/7=81 The Lyrics are above the average person and the beats are experimental like Imfamous-MD 5. Lyrical Couger-8/9/9/8/7=82 aqgain it goes over the head. 6. Grass Skirt and Fluit Hat-10/10/9/9/9=95 This is the First one that could be called a legitimant song. 7. The Cranyon Sharpener-7/10/7/6/7=75 Great beat but what is he talking about on this one. The Beat is top of the line though 8. John Brown's Vaperizer-7/10/6/7/7=74 again good beat but this is not as much as rap as it experimental music. 9. Another Part of a Clowns Brain-8/9/6/5/7=70 again not a song 10. Death of a Thesbian-9/10/7/6/7=79 a legitiment song now. 11. It's Them- 8/10/8/6/7=79 But the beats are banging and this one is actually kind of Grimey. Great Beats all through out. Total Lyrics-75 out of 90 or about a 8. 33 on the lyrics Total Beats -98 out of 100 thats a 9. 80 on the beats Total XFACtor-77 out of 100 which is 7. 70 kind of generous Total Replay-64 out of 100 about a 6. 40 a little kind Total Flow- 68 0ut of 90 or about a 7. 55 a okay flow. Total 382 out of 480 about a 7. 95833 Strenghts-The Beats are absolutely top of the line and the raps are okay when they are done. Nothing above average though Weeknesses-There is not that much entertainment value or replay value to the album. It is to short the lyrics are to over the head and experimental. The guy has a weird flow for sure What it should get- any where from 2. 5-3. 5 Mics is nice for it Recommended-yes but 95% of this albums value is off beats. Great CD Not really, but, I LOVE IT. This is like, the greatest CD ever. You can just start it at track one and bam, no turning or anything because every track is good. I request- no, demand you BUY this album TODAY. Really good CD. I also recommend (if you like this cd) getting cLOUDDEAD's self-titled album, which is also crazy good too. =). The best album ever conceived "Direction to my special place" is an orgasmic song.
