If You Want To Be Melancholy, or Wallow In Your Melancholy State, Then I Suggest Most Any Third Eye Blind Song If you don't own any of the albums, or you only got the 1st album, this is a great look into the band covering both the hits and the deeper cuts. When you look back, it's absolutely amazing Third Eye Blind only put out three albums, but those albums had some pretty classic material. If you've only heard the singles, you haven't heard the real Third Eye Blind. For only three albums, nearly every track on this album is pretty strong.
Highlights Include:
Jumper
Graduate
Never Let You Go
Blinded
Forget Myself
Motorcycle Drive By
By the end of the album, especially after the back-half of the album, I literally felt like I had just broken up with someone who I thought was the love with my life, and I should just stare at some girl's picture for hours upon hours thinking of all the memories we didn't have. That's the effect Steven Jenkin's songwriting has on you. It's a somber reflection with lots of heartache that comes with the breakup. Don't be fooled by some of the peppier beats, Jenkin's lyrics rarely match the mood that is trying to be conveyed. This adds to the mysteriousness, the emotion and the quality of the music.
Overall, while I could have done without "Slow Motion" with lyrics, and could have had a rarity, this is a finely put together best-of package. It showcases all the band's hits, it's deeper cuts, and progresses through the band's various sounds and emotions. In the end, it's an emotional journey albums rarely give, and this feat is pretty impressive. So while you're waiting for that forth album, takes a look at some of their criminally underrated earlier work. You won't be disappointed, but you might need a tissue.
"And I don't wanna play no more!"
Stephan Jenkins is a strong songwriter, he writes very poetic pop songs, they hit you right in the gut but their also infectious and catchy. Third Eye Blind is a great band out of San Francisco and this collection of their hits is pure bliss. I love the first album the most, the late '90s was a great and exciting time to be a teen - their music is timeless. How's it Gonna Be, Losing a Whole Year, Semi-Charmed Life, Motorcycle Drive-By (the best break-up song ever!), Never Let You Go, Slow Motion, and Crystal Baller are the standouts here. The band has a new album coming in August, cannot wait for that! Buy this greatest hits album now!.
Wow!
Lucky for me, my product is in absolutely pristine condition, and it arrived very quickly!. Knowing that this disc was used, I expected a few imperfections in quality.
outstanding
If you like third eye blind, then you will love this CD it has all their hit songs on it including of course semi charmed life, jumper, and never let you go.
My favorite band so I know a little
And of course all of the big ones. Includes slow-motion reprise, and motorcycle drive-by. No wake for young souls though. That was disappointing.
