Dig it....This album runs a close second to me with "It Ain't Easy" being my favorite. The music of my early teens. "Eli's Coming", "Feeling Alright", "Easy To Be Hard", "Celebrate", "Lady Samantha". . . . . --all great tunes that never grow old. Three Dog Night is one of those 60's-70's bands that holds up so well after decades. Tight vocal harmonies(where is that kind of singing these days?) and fine musicianship never go out of style. This was a band that was also great live (saw em many , many years ago). Classic stuff to be savored and enjoyed over and over again.
Grew Up with this one
Perhaps it was the music, perhaps it was the time in my life, but this album is one of the bright shining points of my early teen years. This album has many of your favorite Three Dog Night tunes, plus the hauntingly beautiful Lady Samantha.
If you like this one, also get their greatest hits, there are several beautiful songs you will remember. If I could describe this album in the fewest possible words, it would be
"the Best of my Memories, the Soundtrack for my adolescence".
SUITABLE FOR YOUR COLLECTION
I remember listening to this on 8-track. This is MY favorite 3DN cd. Every song is a tri-vocal assault on the audible center of the brain. Lady Samantha and Circle For a Landing are 2 of their best. It's a shame that they are not radio friendly. the radio is the worst influence around. Get this cd. It's cheap in cost, but rich in treasure.
Suitable For Purchasing
Three Dog Night also contributes with a couple of their own compositions as well, with the drum instrumental "King Solomon's Mines", and Danny Hutton's "Dreaming Isn't Good For You". There are some good songs here, like the upbeat anthem "Celebrate", the sentimental ballad from the musical 'Hair' "Easy To Be Hard", covers by Laura Nyro and Elton John "Eli's Coming", "Lady Samantha". This album put TDN on the map. Too bad "Suitable For Framing" isn't available domestically. Better purchase this version before it, too goes out of print.
