Tool in a not so interesting jam session
That is, songs that are not catchy, do not have very interesting melodies or arrangements or discernible parts (verse, chorus, bridge, etc). Some people are into this style, I personally am not. The songs on this album come across more as a jam session that Tool is meandering through. It just sort of goes on and on and there are few memorable moments. As I said, if you're into that, as it is clear that many people here are, then this may be your thing. I prefer the Tool on "Undertow" (Prison Sex and Sober both being standout tracks on that album). .

Lateralus or Aenima!
I don't know but I'm sure It's one the best band I've ever listen to. Difficult to say which I prefer, Lateralus or Aenima. All is perfectly coordinated, sounds, voice of Maynard. . . . I like it and I almost regret there's only three albums.

CD doesn't play on my machine
I tried it on 2 other players and it wouldn't play. I had to reburn and shorten the CD, change the track order to make it play.

Tool's best and finest moment.
Opinions are like. . ah if you don't know I'm not repeating it. There seems to be a great opinion as to which Tool album is "the best. " Some people liked Undertow because it was direct and to the point. Some people liked Aenima because it was heavy and aggressive. Some people may even like 10,000 Days because of the fact that it was inspired my the recent wave of avant-garde metal that's coming out a la Meshuggah or Fantomas. . .

My personal choice, however, is Lateralus. The album was their most progressive and the most personal. With the exception of Ticks and Leeches (which to me, was a song written to appease the people who wanted Tool to be "heavy like Aenima") the rest of the album treads the line of a spiritual (or maybe even hallucinogenic) experience that is best described as euphoric and invigorating. There's rarely a song that's in common time, the music is constantly pushing boundaries, and as far as singing goes, this is probably MJK's most cathartic effort (well, except for the Wings for Marie songs on 10,000 Days. ) I don't find a dull moment in this album and have continued to enjoy listening to it for the past eight years.

I recommend this album to all. .

Best progressive album since The Wall
You can't explain with words, the only way to understand what this album is about is listening to it, do this, now!!!!!

Timeless, timeless masterpiece, at the level of Dark Side of the Moon. Definitely one of the ten greatest rock albums of all times and the album of the decade!

Of course Aenima is great, but no matter what happens to this band in the future, this album is hugely monstrous, is just rock n' roll in the timeless sense of art.
