Farenheit
Be careful, there's real music inside. Like all ToTo albums, this one is a GREAT one.

"Who cares, what the cynics say", the ballad "Lea" is one of the most beautiful songs ever written.

Fahrenheit: The Toto-Joseph Williams Connection
Enter Joe Williams, son of legendary composer John Williams. After the departures of Bobby Kimball and Fergie Fredriksen, Toto was hard up for a lead singer. Joe's smooth lyrical ability and distinct sound (almost a combination of the previous two) gives Fahrenheit a very unique sound, but definitely in a good way. Definitely worth a listen!.

Pop Rock + Love Songs = Great Album
The love songs I'll Be Over You and Lea are GREAT songs, developing the amazing musical taste of Toto for me the best tracks. A very great album, it brings wonder tracks of good pop rock, like Could This Be Love, Can't Stand It Any Longer, Fahrenheit. And there are other remarkable tracks like Somewhere Tonight another love song with reggae touch, great too. And a good surprise in Don't Stop Me Now, a instrumental jazz that takes you away with a sentimental and lonely mood.
Perfect!.

Just an Okay Toto Album
Steve always does a great job singing the ballads. First of all let me start out with what I like about this album: I love the two hit singles "I'll Be Over You" and "Without Your Love" which are good timeless Toto classics sung by founding band member Steve Lukather. The closing instrumental track features Miles Davis. I am a casual fan of Miles so this was quite a treat to hear him on a Toto album.

Another plus is this is the first album to feature lead singer Joseph Williams. Joseph, to me, has the best voice ever used on a Toto album. Though I love him on the album that followed this one "The Seventh One" I really didn't care much for the songs he is featured on on this album. They really aren't bad songs it is just that many of them suffer from what a lot of songs did in the 80s, they are too long and repetitive. For example I really like "Could It Be Love" at first. It is a beautiful song. The trouble is it doesn't know when to end and the chorus gets repeated over and over again to the point that I am ready to move on to the next track. Some of the songs depend way too heavily on a synth sound like "Til The End" and "Fahrenheit" where it sounds VERY dated to a point I really can't listen too long. I must have not been the only one with these opinions because the 1988 album "The Seventh One" doesn't seem to have the same issues this one does.

If you are a Toto fan and need to be a completest then by all means pick this album up and it really isn't a bad album. If you are a casual fan and pretty much only know the hits pick up "The Essential Toto" or the now out of print "Love Songs". You will be better served with one of those collections.

We,re not in Kansas anymore Toto
They got alot of exposure from MTV, when albums were still selling. Toto's musical fame was too short lived for me. But alot of their terriffic music never got played. I realized I missed their sound. So I did a search on Amazon. Well I found what I was looking for. Great CD, alone or combine on playlist with Billy Ocean, Sade, Cars, and alike.
Dave.
