START HERE TO DISCOVER TWISTED SISTER! I picked this CD up back in 1993 when every CD was already out of print (except Stay Hungry). This is one of the best compilations out there for a band. This collection has a great balance of the "hits" and the "nasty cuts" such as Shoot 'Em Down and the live tracks. The compilation starts with the MTV hits and just keeps going from there. All the songs are memorable and catchy. This highlights quite a bit from their 2 best albums "Under the Blade" & "You Can't Stop Rock N'Roll" such as the title tracks from both as well as the anthemic "Shoot 'Em Down" & "I'll Never Grow Up Now!" The live tracks makes you feel like you were there at the show with crushing renditions of "What You Don't Know. . . " and "Destroyer". If you are just a casual fan or looking to get introduced to T. S. then you need to start here. Make sure you play loud and enjoy!.
Best "Best Of" Ever assembled!
All the twisted greats are here plus awesome live tunes, this collectionb is very well put together! Play it loud mutha!.
Great CD! Awesome Tunes late 80's Band!
This music is really great if you are an 80's and 90's hair band lover! Great Tunes!!.
mixed feelings
Sure, the band is nothing more than an updated and more disgusting version of KISS, but credit needs to be given to the band for at LEAST having some decent anthem-rock songs. I'm giving this album a somewhat decent rating because at least the short studio songs are catchy. Everybody knows "We're Not Gonna Take It". I even heard this song on some commercial recently advertising female problems. "I Wanna Rock" is definitely the catchiest song on the disc. "ROCK rock ROCK rock". Yeah, you know it.
"I Am (I'm Me)" is the perfect song for an angry teenager to play over and over in his bedroom as he sits there in the dark thinking about how much the world hates him. "The Price" is sort of depressing, only that, we're talking about an 80's hair metal band attempting to say something important. "You Can't Stop Rock and Roll" is pretty awesome. After this song, the rest of the studio tracks sort of blend together, though I won't deny how catchy most of them are.
The live tracks are, unfortunately, really awful. Just a terrible live band. I was never a fan of the Rolling Stones classic "It's Only Rock 'n Roll" anyway, but hearing Twisted Sister attempt this song in a live settting with an overbearingly long build-up consisting mostly of a bunch of swear words that mean absolutely nothing to anyone other than those who happened to be attending the concert is, well, really freakin' bad.
Stick with the studio tracks. Those songs rule.
Very Pleased
