Bonnie and Jim a perfect match Their first effort, 'Faster Than The Speed Of Night' produced the classic, 'Total Eclipse Of The Heart', and this album is in the same vein. As a lifelong Jim Steinman fan, the teaming of gravel-voiced Tyler was a match made in heaven (or is that Hell?). Steinman's Wagner-at-the-piano mini rock operas are the winners here - especially the stand out track, 'Loving You's A Dirty Job', where she duets with the golden-voiced Steinman collaborator Rory Dodd, but other highlights include the oft-covered 'Band Of Gold' which gets the ballsy Bonnie treament. 'Holding Out For A Hero', perhaps the best-known track is from the Footloose Soundtrack. There is talk of a new Steinman/Tyler album, so cross your fingers, and until then grab this, if only for the Janet Jackson/Rhythm Nation cover shot.
Late but perfect
Thanks . I had to wait very long to receive the cd, but in the end all is fine.
Simply perfect
I orignally bought the album in 1988, and it didn't left my cars casetteplayer for months. This is one of the best albums I've ever bought. It was also one of the fist albums I had to have on cd. And now its on my MP3, and still one of my top 10.
Just listen to "Loving you's a dirty job", "Holding out for a hero", "Ravishing" and Freda Pynes "Band of gold", and you'll be hooked, for sure.
Please Bonnie, team up with Jim Steinman again, and do the magic ones again.
