U2 is still the best rock band. U2 is the best rock band. If you want to go on a trip to your inner love just buy this cd and enjoy enjoy and enjoy it. Of course Joshua Tree is the best album till now but this one is fantastic too.
you wont regret it
recently bono said, its not a singles record, its an album with a beginning , middle and and end. I dont buy every u2 album that comes out, but am i ever glad i bought this one, its just a fantastic uplifting, euphoric record. so true. also, ive heard it called electronically experimental. what a bunch of hogwash, this album is just straight up great rocknroll for the most part.
Takes time to get used to
But, I do feel this is their best album in awhile. By reading the other reviews you kind of get a mixed bag of opinions. Unfortunately, this album is not even close to Joshua Tree, Unforgettable Fire, and Achtung Baby. It definitely is better than their last album, How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb. There is not really one song that hooks you in, and you say wow!!! This is probably why it does not have as much radio play. But, the songs are overall strong. The song "Breathe" is my favorite. At first listen I had to get used to it. I do feel this album was a decent chapter in U2. And the concert at the Rose Bowl was amazing. Though U2 is not what it used to be, their music is still relevant and strong. .
The Latest U2 record.
They have gradually gone downhill musically speaking, for some time now, since the peak of their popularity. Probably the worst U2 record so far, with only about two decent tracks on the record. Although they still manage to sell records, and sell out large venues on tour.
One of Their Best.......
Fans who were expecting a litany of their greatest hit's got 7 songs from the current album and that was very good news to those of us who have actually purchased the CD and, more importantly, actually listened to it more than once. I just saw U2 on their 360 tour at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena and the show, like their latest album, just blew me away. You see, No line is the kind of album that takes some time to sink in and gets better with each repeated listen. The songs, the production, the themes that run through the music, are all on a par with U2's other great album's, Achtung Baby, The Unforgettable Fire, and the Joshua tree.
The difference here is that, unlike those other album's, No Line actually holds up all the way through, it doesn't run out of steam during the last few songs.
In fact, one of U2's very best songs, Breathe, is near the end of the CD. There were some people at the Rose Bowl who hadn't bothered to become familiar with the new album, and those folks were probably scratching their heads at the first three songs the band played because they were all off the new CD. For those of us who have embraced the new tunes, we were treated to one of the best shows we had ever seen. The new songs were by far the most passionate performances of the night and the new material translated well to the concert stage. Thank you U2 for continuing to challenge your audience and to deliver music that is amazing and constantly pushing the envelope.
