this has got to be one of the top 10 live releases of all time. their studio cd's do not come close to this.

The ONE!
To my mind (ear) there are no weak numbers here. This is one truly fantastic and magnificent live album! The band is great as are also the songs. Even more than that, the songs are much stronger than on studio albums! Sheer rock energy together with virtuoso musical skills (Shenker being in the spotlight) make this record unforgetable from start to finish. Hard rock just doesn't get better than this. This is the ONE! If you are still thinking, don't. This is absolutely a must-have. .

GET IT!!
Along with Deep Purple's 'Made in Japan', Thin Lizzy's 'Live and Dangerous', Loudness' 'Live-Loud-Alive', Accept's 'Staying A Life', and Gary Moore's 'We Want Moore, this is a must-have CD that belongs in every hard rock collection. the other reveiwers covered this quite well. A classic album by a classic band.

Two important songs missing from this songlist!
Pack It Up(and go)was after Cherry and Ain't No Baby was also in the setlist. I totally agree this is a great live album, but this Chicago show actually did not have Mother Mary,This Kids I'm a Loser and Natural Thing in the set list. Why can't they just include those two songs also. Even if it was a double cd set it would be well worth it.

Hold tight, til the end...
At their peak in the late seventies, this band had it all. One of the great mysteries in the annals of heavy rock is why UFO never became a big band on par with Aerosmith, Ted Nugent and KISS. . . stage chops, anthemic songs, great chemistry and a dazzling (and unpredictable) lead guitarist. When Michael Schenker left the band after their magnum opus, the live `Strangers in the Night', UFO never regained the momentum that might have made them superstars. Though the band would continue to make high quality hard rock into the early `80's--the magic was lost! As it stands, "Strangers' is still considered one of the all-time greats and the primary reason why UFO is still highly regarded by current hard rock musicians and some diehard fans. The band's best material was captured at the height of their performance powers and for many, `Strangers' remains UFO's greatest hits (much like sister album `Live and Dangerous' from Thin Lizzy). "Lights Out", "Out in the Street", "Too Hot to Handle", "Shoot Shoot" and of course Michael's guitar hero barnstormer "Rock Bottom". For a notorious rowdy (and drunk/drugged) collection of blokes, UFO was all business and must have made the headliners on the `Obsession' American tour piss their pants! UFO could do it all, speed metal ("Let it Roll"), country ("I'm a Loser") and epic Zeppelinesque balladry ("Love to Love") it is a damn shame such talent wasn't rewarded with megastar status. Being a UFO fan is like being a member of an exclusive club. . . . and `Strangers' was our gold card. .
