Customer Reviews
No actual songs here.....
However, a word of caution should be expressed to those thinking of buying this soundtrack as this is CLEARLY a SCORE-type or MOOD music to fit the movie (which is obviously the reason for a soundtrack). As a HUGE Midge Ure fan I can only be glad that I have yet another CD with his "music" on it. Unlike many other type of soundtracks that have a THEME to the characters or events that you could HUM to. . . There is nothing quite like that at all to this soundtrack. What songs that are a bit interesting here do not last long enough to get into anything really satisfying. Notice the length of each track:
1)The Gabby Variations - 2:41
2)High Noon on 103rd Street - :54
3)Surgery - :53
4)Stan's Disco - 2:02
5)Stealing Candy - 2:43
6)Arriving at Coney - :44
7)Midday Suite - 3:21
8)Bumper Cars/Locket Stealing - 2:40
9)Pawnshop/Jerry Mahoney - 4:50
10)Finding Richie Again - 2:08
11)Allegra - :48
12)Richie Calls His Mom - 3:11
13)Wedding - 2:34
14)Lost Point - 4:34 (NOT done by Midge Ure)
15)Return to Skeetball - 2:22

As you can see there is not much substance here as far as melodies or songs you might be able to sing or hum to. HOWEVER, Midge does quite well for capturing the mood in what is available to us to hear. Would like to see MIDGE get involved with a soundtrack that we could have an end credit song or even it's theme song. If you are looking for great songs like "Lament" or "Hymn". . . this is VERY far from that.

Surprise!
I had seen the film and was shocked to find that Ultravox's(!) Midge Ure had done this electronica-based score. A surprisingly listenable soundtrack album. While I miss him actually singing these tunes are very compelling. Great Stuff! Be sure to check out the hidden track at the end, it's hilarious!.

Midge Ure is still great
It arrived today and I have listened to it 3 times already. This is the first time I've bought a soundtrack before seeing a movie! The reason is that I'm a huge Midge Ure/Ultravox fan, and really wanted to get my hands on this CD. I am very impressed with it, it is definitely clear that Midge Ure still has what it takes to make great, moving, wonderful music. He also released a brand new solo album just a few weeks ago. I am so happy that he is still making new stuff and hasn't "faded to grey" (die hard fans will get that reference) like the other Ultravox members.
