Decent Live Album All of Usher's singles up to this point expect for Can U Get With It were featured in LIVE renditions. Let's face it, Usher Live was only released to milk all the soon to be superstar but it's still a decent Live album. Usher really shows promise and apperication of old school music with his all too brief but excllent covers. The covers start out with the intro from Bobby Brown's Don't Be Cruel and then blends into Every Little Step. Usher then goes into ballad mode covering Rock Witcha, Roni, I Need Love and Tender Love which leads into his own slow jams Bedtime and the classic Nice & Slow. I really would like to hear Usher do an album of covers, I'd think he'd kill Marvin Gaye's Sexual Healing and Prince's Adore. All in all a decent Live album.
Usher does too many remakes and versions of each song
Bobby Brown did Roni (written by Baby Face in 1988; this is a lackadasical version). Usher is a great talent but at least a third of these songs are remakes. Tender Love, Every Little Step, Don't be cruel, etc. . . are all remakes. If you search some of these songs on the internet, Usher even gets credit for them. It's almost like he did this CD to make money only. He seems to be going through the motions on this CD and doesn't have that great energy he usually shows. It's almost as disappointing as having 3-4 versions of one song (Part 1, Part 2, etc. . . ) and calling each part a song (he does this now). I've seen him live and this CD sucks compared to what he can do. Very disappointing. It was released in 1999 when people forget he wasn't exactly burning up the charts all of the time; which may attribute to the remakes and his lack of energy. He seems to give just enough to get by. .
Good But Far From His Best
Personally i think MY WAY was this best album yet. Usher has taken the world by storm with all of this albums.
8701 was jammmin' too.
Live is a good album 4 usher fans but the cd does get boring. .
If u want a really good Usher album buy My Way or 8701.
This album could've been better, however i'm not sorry i got it because some songs do sound nice in the Live version especially Nice and Slow. - Dat song Rockz!!.
Best R&b singer
I got this album this year to hear his performance in a live concert and i'm pleased with this one too and he showed everyone that he is not only a studio singer he can do the same job in live action. I met Usher with his 2nd album My Way in 1997 and from that time to today he is still my best singer and his song Nice&Slow is my best song ever. He dances so well and sings incredible but he better be quick to release new albums because its been like 3 years. All i wanna say is Everybody has to have this album in their collection believe me you can't stop listening it.
too soon for a live album and a okay vocalist
the problem with this disc is that Usher is mainly a studio artist. you used to have at least release a few records or have been around for a while to put out a live album. Live he is flat&boring. the songs aren't as good or interesting. overall he comes off like a 2nd tier Bobby Brown clone. and these days that ain't good.
