Vai's most soulfull and melodic songs all on one disc

This offering is the quintessential Steve Vai at his most melodic and soulful moments. Steve Vai is without a doubt, one of the most virtuoso guitarists ever to pick up the instrument. To try to summize this cd, would be nearly impossible. But, I will say this. . . . if you have ever been curious about his music or if you have any interest at all in guitar or instrumental related music, this is an absolute must have. This compilation of song number sevens from his previous efforts, is probably the greatest single guitar compilation ever produced.

A little mistake
Unfortunately I have to say that you guys from amazon. Of course I had to buy this one like every note Steve's ever recorded, especially because of the 3 "new songs". com are wrong when you say that the japanese edition included an extra track. There is no such one. So I should have bought the european version. That would have been much cheaper. But this is the first time you failed and I forgive you (he,he), but other customers should be informed - so I wrote this.

A great summary of an incredible career!
Although some tracks on here are not the 7th song. This album, as many of you know, is a summary of Steve's ballad songs, which are always the 7th song on his albums. For those of us who already own Steve's other CD's that these tracks come off of, there are several tracks that are newly released. The track "Melissa's Garden" marks a new milestone in Steve's career, it is the first track he has done entirely digitally. It's a beautiful track, full of lush acoustic guitars and soaring electric solos. "Wall of Light" is another amazing track, running in the same experimental vein as "Alien Water Kiss" did on Passion and Warfare. Here Steve again uses the Eventide harmonizer to maximum effect. In my opinion one of the best tracks on this album is the final "Boston Rain Melody", which arose of of a soundcheck from a Boston concert. Truly beautiful melody, a great close to this CD. This CD is an excellent start to anyone just getting interested in Steve Vai, or even for long time fans like myself who are looking for some new tracks.
